Good point about the millions originally spent on constructing these towers Razni, and the question you raised about the structural integrity. The actually look quite modern to me, although I read that some weren't very well insulated (critical in Scotland). Aside from one of these being an odd looking demolition (normally buildings like this are supposed to collapse vertically the way the World Trade Centre was) I looked this up trying to find out what the building that the founders of ACDC lived in. It's clearly been demolished. I wish the council would plant an urban forest here because it looks so bare now...

RGTsilversteam Indeed, but the demo guys had that in mind, part of the technique. The design of the block meant it couldn’t be imploded either from one end falling to the other, or have it fall completely over like a tree, would’ve used too much explosives. They always say in demolition documentaries that when rigging a structure for blowdown, the fewer explosives needed, the better. By placing the explosives only half way up across a few floors to angle the blast, the top would fall sideways but still enough in a downward direction to not only crush the lower half of the building, but still avoid the nearby blocks. It’s a neat technique, it’s been used a lot actually to bring down high rise tower blocks in Scotland.
