Thank you this is excellent and so much better than other saddle fitters on here! One called Ian was so fat it was a disgrace.

@horsefever0558 Basically the principles are the same, however, Western saddles are generally built on trees that are not adjustable. He suggests that you consult a western expert by buying a book or the DVD by Joyce Harman on Western Saddles and how to fit pain-free. Happy Trails

Thank you for sharing this info. I assume that this information goes for western saddles. I don't ride too much but I will consider next time I saddle.

I have a sway back gelding how would I get a english saddle to fit him. I am just starting english riding. I have always done western riding. So EVERYTHING is new to me!!
