Sad to see it go! Hyundai Tucson 2022 long-term review | A good five-seat family SUV in 2023?
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
For several months, Tung Nguyen has been living with the Hyundai Tucson, and he already knows he and his family will miss it.
This long-term loan was in the top-spec Highlander N-Line diesel, which isn't cheap compared to many of its rivals (like the Kia Sportage, Mazda CX-5 and Toyota RAV4), but has some other standout features that make it appealing for SUV buyers.
It has more style and presence than many of its competitors, for instance - especially with the optional N Line pack fitted, which makes it look assertive and sporty, but doesn't change the way it drives to any major degree.
With plenty of space, it was easily large enough for Tung's family of three (soon to be four), but watch the video to see if he thinks the diesel is the right choice or not. You might be surprised.

Sorry about the graphics issues in this video, people. They went half-screen for no apparent reason!
Hi, would you chose the Hyundai Tucson hybrid , Kia Sportage hybrid or the Toyota RAV4 hybrid? Looking for an suv that will last 8-10 years. TIA
Thanks for your informative Hyundai Tuscan review. My second 'run around shopping' car is a bought new 2004 Getz and in that time it's only had 5 light bulbs and a new set of tyres. Hyundai reliability and I bought my other also a Hyundai. Thanks again.
Are you sure the apple car play is wireless on the 10inch screen?
So when is the hybrid version coming. May as well go for the Santa fe
Those annoying information graphics popping up and covering half the screen. 😡
How manly did you rack up on the diesel and did you run into any issues with the Tucson?
After watching many videos of this model for the European market, I'm completely blown away by how different this Australian version is. All European trims come with a 1.6l engine and there is no 2.0l available. All trims have a digital driver display and the central console with no knobs or real buttons and a wireless Android Auto.
Is it normal for the Tucson to use alot of gas when the engine is on but not driving
I have respray my skid plate front and rear glass black to match the rest of glass black .
This is a beautiful car inside & out, even from the base model. Comfortable, luxury, refined, smooth drivetrain. Premium cabin & solid finish & build quality. The Korean Hyundai motor company deserves great accolades for their new Hyundai Tucson 👏. Great SUV & pricing.
The compulsive need for a hybrids and a sunroof, seems more grounded in journalistic license, then actual requirements of the buying public.
Well what is “best in class” for handling? Be nice to know. Anyone?
I can't wait for mine! I have a 1.6L Highlander on order. Was supposed to be 6 months wait but pushed out to up to 9 months. I hope it arrives before my baby does! 😅

Can you cancel the order? 1.6T petrol with the DCT?...buy the X-Trail or CX5.
That stroller lol
Did you compare the drive of the 1.6T variant in city drive conditions. If so was the trans smooth in the stop start conditions you get with inner city use? Have read mixed reports that the DCT is very hesitant or jerky when slowing to an almost complete stop and then accelerating off again .Any thought on that?

My current Tucson does that 2020

Total deal breaker for me. I tested it and it was horrible!!!

@@camiloposada3344 I’ve got a Rav4 hybrid on order but looks like it wont arrive until sometime in 2024 so thought that Tucson would be another option even though its not hybrid but don’t want the 2.0 NA engine as it will no doubt be underpowered for regular hill driving and diesel doesn’t make sense for city use as no real saving on fuel when you factor in the cost of diesel over petrol. Will check if any local Hyundai dealerships are confident enough to have 1.6l demos cars on the car lot if the DCT is as bad as some reviewers report

@@Tigers529 How would you describe it….Does it sound like crunching or clunking of metal parts when moving from complete stop at slow speed? The car features look so good but if the transmission is rubbish then thats enough for me to look at another brand

@@vrs76r mate, I tested both the Tucson and the Kia Sportage DCT Turbo petrol engine and I don’t recommend, because of that massive issue at low speed, from my point of view is even dangerous to drive (for instance when you approach a roundabout) and you will never get use to that. I loved the Kia Sportage and almost purchased on the spot, lucky they allowed me the test drive. Total deal breaker. For me. Even though I wanted a vehicle slightly bigger I have ordered the new Nissan qashqai delivery in Feb 2023 (hopefully). Cheers.
Can we please get the diesels here in the US!
Less intrusive transmission tunnel compared to what not rav4 hybrid .
I have the hybrid model (US market) and I plan to let go of it. Reason is the advertised mpg is not realistic and the car actual mpg is worse than a similar-sized suv, especially on the highway.
Whilst I do like the styling of the Tuscon, I'd rather go with the Kia sportage Gt line diesel, longer warranty, and a nicer looking body style, kia is also the only one to benefit for an Australian suspension tune, not found in its sister car, or even its competitors, making it more sure footed on our roads, and feels more capable. The Gen5 sportage, also has the full digital instrument cluster on all grade levels. Ii do really love the taillights on the Tuscon, but you can see where they got the design from, they're very similar to the Ford Mustang.

Rear of the Kia completely ruined it for me. Got the Tucson instead.
Stp there I own rav4 and tucson both hybrid The rav4 is taller and wider and slight shorter, over all but bigger wheel than tucson. Rav4 has bigger boot and can accommodate longer items . Over all rav4 is better packaged .
I prefer this to the Sportage, however in base trim this is quite ugly. In terms of performance the Escape would blow this away. But in terms of interior quality it would not. I feel like Hyundai and Kia are more in touch with their buyers who are starting to want them to feel more premium.
Be good with the N 2.0 turbo petrol. I'd buy one then

Or at least hybrid
Tucson hybrid does not come with spare wheel unlike Toyota. Well done Toyota. When you review these car it help to a competitor there . . Don't get me wrong we like both cars. But they Toyota is easier to live with. My Toyota comes with 10 year warranty same as lexus
Sorry really do not understand these people who find having children difficult children will entertain themselves given the space modern parents are way to over involved in there children's lives. Take a step back. Let your children live.
Hmmmm as good as Tiguan
Looks like an origami project gone wrong!!
No, no no no no. Many things overlooked by the reviewer and commenting that the other two engines will be great also around town is a joke, read on please. You need to buy the Highlander to get an auto tailgate? You need to buy the Turbo Diesel just to feel like your driving as the other engines should be avoided. One because its underpowered,(2l petrol), same engine in my daughters Hyundai Kona and the other because its underpowered and the DCT transmission will make noises, clunks and jerk ,(1.6T petrol) annoying you till you finally thank yourself for getting rid of it. You will be lucky to get under 11 second 0-100km on the petrol drivetrains, (with fuel and a passenger), may aswell put a sign on your brand new SUV, " Sorry, blame Hyundai". 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. People won't need to ask what their blaming Hyundai for. Drive them all before making the decision. ( Sportage, Tuscon, CX-5, X-Trail and the RAV4).
