@@lukoyedemola8043 I'm from late 60's. Wahabi ilori is an icon among fuji singers of that time. There are truths in his story, general kollington ayinla and some other fuji singers of that time testified to the wickedness of SAB. Iyanda sawaba, Tajudeen and some other people described the late SAB in a fearful way. Those days, they attacked each other with charms and hooligans.

Agbaletu, majority of the people commenting on this platform are young people who doesn't know much about what has happened in the 70s in which I can't be blaming them. I'm in my late 60s and I can tell you much about Wahabi Ilori and majority of the so called fuji musician including Alhaji Barrister, Alhaji Kollington. I was brought up in Mushin, Aromire Street to be pricised and later moved to Apesin Street, let's all beg God for forgiveness. Agbaletu, we all knew Wahabi Ilori very by then because we were all the same age group and he's a very quiet guy and highly talented. I thought he's died because I have not been hearing anything about him since I relocated to England over 30 years ago. I promise that I will call him between now and tomorrow. Thank you for this program

Let's do what we can to help Mr. Wahab, regardless of our opinions on his story. My father was a huge fan of Dr. Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, and I recognize his impact on Nigeria's music scene. However, we must look past our biases and acknowledge that nobody, including Mr. Wahab and Dr. SAB, is perfect. Let's show kindness to Mr. Wahab during this difficult time, and may God answer our prayers as we do so.

Haba Haba! Wahabi Ilori. I see this as a big blunder. In my own opinion. You don't blame your woe, misfortune, and mistakes in your musical career on Late Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Barrister. A man who can not wake up to defend himself. So, Barrister charmed you in the room to the extent that he put his hand on your head and started recounting Ifa's incantations, and you can not move nor say anything? Was your music career such a threat to Barrister that he had to take such a step to bring you down??? Why didn't he do it to others such as K1, Kollington, Sawaba, Akanni Rahmam, Fatai Adio, Rasheed Ayinde (2nd Barrister) Toheeb Alamu, Raimi Bokos (Bokote) Waheed Akangbe, Rocky Maitama and so many like that. Remember, Barrister did a show where he put his cap on K1. Why didn't K1's fortune take a down turn??? You and the elderly man had scripted the story to blame the dead in order to get help on social media. I've been watching Agbaletu for ages and I've never seen 2 people granting interview simply based on one artistes career. Does it mean Wahabi Ilori is so Demented and he simply can not grant an interview??? The elderly man was doing everything to re-write the history and creation of Fuji. Faaji, Fuji and Faaji were all lies from the pit of hell. All the old artistes he was mentioning were singing Sakara and not Fuji. Saka Olayigbade, Ajadi Ganiyu, Kasali Jolly, Abinuwaye Basiru, Kawu Aminu, etc. were all singing Sakara not Fuji. I'm a student of history, and I know a lot about Fuji a lot. I know when Jibowu Ishola took Sikiru to Barrister Group and advised him not to sing Were. Simply because you can not wax a record with Were song. That's a story for another day. But please, if you need help to rebuild your music career. Don't rewrite the history of Fuji or blame Late Sikiru Ayinde Barrister for your woes.

Dele, I am a fan of yours watching from the USA. My wife and l have always saluted your depth, skills, and competence. With that love, I'd like to ask you to be cautious with such delicate allegations like this one. First of all, on the dispute of Fuji or no Fuji. Even when they all tried to discredit SAB, they kept showing their ignorance and hate. Artists having gigs and grooves calling it Faaji or Fuja doesn't change the originating claim for the first person to adopt the name and commercialize his genre of music. Those people sang Were, Sakara and co, for their faaji or Fuja. It took some creative thinking for SAB to add certain instruments and adopt the name. Therefore, the flowers deservedly are his. Even Kollignton Ayinla came out recently to say, "Let's keep malice aside, the creative credit for Fuji belongs to SAB. I was raised as pure omo alakowe (so called westernized class) the most tolerated Yoruba music in our household then was King Sunny Ade and Obey, and l was the first rebel in my family to follow Fuji music, and the foremost person l knew with Fuji was SAB. To tell you how wild l became then, l knew about Ilori Wahab as well. So I have no doubt about his talent, or nothing against him. Secondly, it's hard to believe that an incident of such magnitude occurred as Alhaja Wahabi described, and he did not find it necessary to publish this accusations when SAB was alive. Even before the internet, people used the available media. And is he willing to go and declare this using confirmed Ogun Lakaaye, to swear it by invoking instant judgment? The man certainly need some help, and l wish he gets helped, but let's be cautious of defamation without verifiable facts. Again, we are all Yoruba people, let's keep all this Jesus name and Allah to the side and go to Ogun shrine to swear.

The don't have any recorded fuji album prior to his to support their claims...JUST JEALOUSY....Kollington himself later after Barry dies - said Barrister started and won the genre.

Music is like a product you are willing to sell in the market, if you don't do your market research and improve your products and processes, your competitors will leave you behind and take your market share, I follow Barrister's music a lot and I can tell you that apart from the fact that Barrister was blessed lyrically and philosophically, he improved on his beats over time.... The beats in Family planning and Oke Agba were too archaic for Maturity and Dimensional Fuji or all the series of Fuji Garbage...you cannot continue to use a monotonous sound in music and expect your audience not to get tired and Jaded, Barrister's gift was adaptability and creativity, Wahab Ilori, between you and God, could you beat Barrister in his game in his prime? Everybody find comfort in blaming spirituality and village people even when they are not good enough in their craft.....

None of those he mentioned ever played Fuji but were. This was referenced as far back as thirty nine years ago (1985). The old Fuji man (Wahab) did not really come out with facts for reasons best known to him. If he did, will Barrister come from heaven or wherever he is to kill him? All I see is pure envy. Let's just for an instance imagine this is a make up story which I don't believe it is, owing to the fact that a close ally of the culprit had made reference to the fact that the 'legend' had in time past afflicted the man even though the man claimed he had not informed him of what transpired. Isn't there a lesson for the dumb people to learn? No body wants you to succeed beyond them. Having some people still taking sides with he the 'legend' on this leaves me in no surprise as to why this country is where it is as at today. God help us ooo.

Hmnnnn....often, people who condescendingly claim to know too much are the biggest fools! And ability to write voluminous text with good diction, syntax and expressions does not make one to be that intelligent. Your comment just lent credence to these facts! You: Let's just for an instance imagine this is a make up story which I don't believe it is, owing to the fact that a close ally of the culprit had made reference to the fact that the 'legend' had in time past afflicted the man even though the man claimed he had not informed him of what transpired. Isn't there a lesson for the dumb people to learn? Re: Aren’t you the dumbest here? 1. So, that Kollington Ayinla in his usual arabu - style to score cheap point alleged that Barrister did something sinister and spiritual to attack the destiny of that man actually meant it happened because the guy did not tell Kollington of what transpired in Barrister’s house? Isn’t that a mere circumstantial evidence to judge the man to be right? 2. So, how did Kollington know? A spiritualist told him too as in the case of Gbenga Adeboye? 3. If yes, in 2 above, does that make that to be true? How plausible is it that the woman Gbenga Adeboye went to seek spiritual protection from was also the same herbalist Barrister used to destroy the man’s life? 4. Do you remember any Kollington song that he himself is proud today that he uttered those abusive words that are his trademarks? 5. Did you listen to Elewure one of his earliest albums fighting against one Adio or something? 6. In what Kollington song did he not abuse Barrister, including mentioning Barrister’s siblings? 7. Isn’t the endless abuse of Barrister his own strategy of selling his records? Barrister also said so. You: No body wants you to succeed beyond them. Having some people still taking sides with he the 'legend' on this leaves me in no surprise as to why this country is where it is as at today. Re: 1. In law, the first principle of fair justice is “audi alteram partem.” That is, listen to the second party first! Have you heard Barrister side of the story? Barrister is dead…Yes! And this is why NOT you - Mr. Know it all, and nobody - can make any fair, impartial and unbiased pronouncement on the matter. No court can! 2. That man’s account is similar to a story related to what happened between Gboyega Lawal and Barrister in the link below. So, what if something similar to Gboyega Lawal was what happened to that man and the man case almost put Barrister himself in problem just for inviting him to his house? facebook.com/share/v/9UvEVzePMgX6M3HZ/?mibextid=ytq1xL 3. If Barrister actually want to finish the man - spiritually, does he need to invite him to his own house to hatch the job, and stand with his kill? 4. Was Barrister that almighty that all spiritual attacks sent to him were all ineffectual, too? 5. How many musicians’ or public’s testimonies of Barrister have you heard? How many were positive, how many were negative? And when you compare, what is the ratio to statistically conclude Barrister might possibly be as wicked as everybody says ? 6. You opinion that the failure of right-thinking Nigerians to share your biased -though process as the fundamental reason why this country is where it is today is nothing but a mere gaslighting! CAVEAT: - THIS IS NOT TO REFUTEY THE MAN’S ALLEGATION AGAINST BARRISTER…I WAS NOT THERE! - THIS IS NOT TO DEFEND BARRISTER - AND THIS IS NOT TO MAKE A PRONOUNCEMENT ON WHO IS RIGHT OR OTHERWISE!!! -MAY THE LORD VISIT BABA AND RESTORE THE LOST TIME AND GLORY BACK INTO HIS LIFE! - AS FOR BARRISTER, MAY HIS GOOD DEEDS STAND FOR HIM, AND MAY HIS EVILS STAND AGAINST HIM WHEREEVR HE IS!

Kollington is a SAB hater, the reason he didn't admit Barrister was the originator of Fuji until SAB's demise. But let's look at it this way, if SAB is the devil, why is his music still relevant till today even 14 years after his demise, and Kollington despite being alive is not? If Barrister is evil as Kollington and Wahab painted, nobody will hear of him since his demise but look at both Kollington and Wahab even though they are alive are almost nonexistent. The jokes and defamation are on them.

The same Barrister also said in his record that, "were lo di fuji" and that it was him and kollington that make fuji famous. It's very logical, if the transformation of "were" is the one that led to fuji, it simply means all "were" singers are fuji musicians. Late SAB is therefore not the founder of fuji but the person that founded "were" is the one.

That someone's father was your drummer is storytelling,"opon ti sun".His co traveler story about Fuji is puerile, disjointed is inaccurate and at best inadequate. Im not going to dabble into who was the originator but a critical survey and study of fuji stories in the public domain will clearly tell you that either the man doesn't know what he was talking about or an outright liar who is just out to malign, defame and destroy the legacy of a dead man.Very very bad.

I hardly comment on stuff publicly, but as someone with an ounce of sense you wouldn’t believe Wahab Ilori, He was never a competition to SAB around 1978/80 Barrister was already a household not just in fuji but in music in Nigeria, in his statement, after SAB "took him to his house, use a spell and spoken verbal charms on him, he took his name to a woman for bewitchment" when he never rivaled him. In the interview, I noticed he is proud and believed he was already a superstar when he was actually an upcoming musician in the years stated and was living beyond his level believing he is a superstar. When you miss shows you have collected the money or you are arriving late for gigs, you will definitely lose fans and followership. If Kollington is not alive, he would have said he senior him in music too. He is not honest, hides the truth and just looking for sympathy.

Hmmm, the story of this musical icon was very pathetic and painful. Many people might be differed with his submission but in reality, our elders says “ E wo enu ile, ki e si wo enu oko”. A warrior who said that he went to a war and he used his hands to kill millions of enemies, if we were unable to witness the millions being killed in the war front and what about the ones he has killed in our presence. Alhaji Wahab ILORI is suffering truly and he is heartbroken and pathetic. We couldn’t rule out possibility of his story because it was war of business. Many people have faced the same problem. Furthermore, we could also not rule out mismanagement of resources and famed during that period because he said that he had about 8 different brands of vehicles at age of 20 years. In this interview, he didn’t want to name any musician but line of interviews and responses have led to mention names. I just want to appeal to all music lovers to help this man because of God . The rudeness probably comes from the fact that he's paying to get the interview but I just can't tolerate the lack of regard for the older man he's interviewing. He came for the controversy. He got it. He doesn't look to care about or respect the man.

One of my reservation for this interview ,and so many other interviews on this thread; is the allusions to the OLD WIVES TALES. This is a case in point. It would have been better if the interview is on reminiscing on the past and not apprentices casting aspersions on the characters of their masters, as if mankind is flawless, and without shortcomings.

the interviewer's body language suggests he had formed a proir opinion of the interviewee - some kind of "looking down' on the man, perhaps because he is not a "rich man of influence"???

So, you did not tell Kollington and he got to know from where? I repeat, this man is a LIAR! It is imperative for Agbaletu to interview Kollington before he dies so he can say one or two things about it.

Thank you for these interviews...the story behind what we thought we knew. If not for this platform, some of these stories will not come out and we will continue to think that those we think were humans were truly humans but were not.

This old man hates barrister and it shows in his lies. Barrister had seniors in ajiwere/ajisari, but not in Fuji.

Besides, the late 1970s that he started Fuji, Barrister was already a superstar, a global icon who had taken Fuji music to UK, Canada etc, the fact remains that he needs help, but that Barry destroyed him? Oh, common, let's stop this nonsense!

K1 did not live with Barrister and was never part of his Band. You guys just believe a lot of Lies. Go and Listen to Old Barrister Albums where he eulogies is Band Members and Mention One in which he mentioned K1 Name... You definitely find None. After Barrister, the Next Inline is Tajudeen Alade (His Deputy) and then Other follow. You guys don't have insight to all the things that happened beyond the Sing Aspect, but you feel he is a Saint. Anyway, who am I to argue with you? I'm an inside haven't been born by his Deputy in the 80's, I can say I have more insight than 95% of you commenter here, who know little or nothing Sef. Ire Ooo Enjoy your Saint Music, I'm his fan too despite everything and I was even named after him.

Kollington made Barrister to Join the Army not the other way round? Secondly, Sunny is still alive, Sunny, Barrister and Monsuru recorded their first album same day.
