Sacred Relics? PRINCESS DIANA'S DRESSES

In June 1997 Diana, Princess of Wales, auctioned off 79 of her dresses for charity. Two months later she died in the car crash in Paris. What did the new owners of her dresses feel now? A 1999 documentary for BBC TV and HBO.

@@21ROEHAMPTON NO! NO! Don't be Grace Kelly. GOOD GOD, NO!!! She was a ho! Go read up on her. Don't just be throwing names out there because you think they sound cute without really knowing who you're speaking about! She did Clark Gable, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, et al. I wouldn't want to be Cleopatra either, sleeping around with Caesar and being his baby mama while he was married. I assume you mean Queen Elizabeth the Second--ok, yes, but I wouldn't want to be like the first either. @@billyhart9710 , If Diana had chosen to take the advice of her sensible son, Prince William, she would never have gone back to Paris. If Diana had chosen to take the advice of the man who loved her, Dr Hasnat Khan, she would never have gone back to Paris. Diana had chosen to trust two men who did not love her, but wanted the most valuable female in the world as a business asset. If they had CARED for Diana and valued her as a woman, she would probably still be alive today.

I've been looking for this show for years-thanks for the upload! One of my favorites was the red/black hi-low gown made by Bruce Oldfield. The late Princess of Wales pairing mis-matched gloves was pure fashion genius. I also adore the silver lame gown and the red with gold tread gown made by the same designer. I'm an American. Far too many of us are so gauche. Few have panache, and this footage reminds me of that fact.

Glenys Dunford In fact, the real people's Princess was Mary Adelaide of Teck, Queen Mary's mother, who did so much for charity that she just about bankrupted her family. She was given the name people's Princess in the 1880s. Bet Blair and co didn't know that when they made him say that. Honestly, I don't think it as justified for Diana. She did a lot of good, but not by bankrupting herself. That is true dedication. She also shunned publicity for the good she did, certainly not tipping off the media.

@@elizabethsheffield6609 , it is true that Prince William came up with the idea, but it happened during Diana's lifetime. When you write "they have taken their mother's works & deeds for charity to heart and are carrying on with her legacy." , this s NONSENSE. Charitable work is what the Royal Family DOES. Unlike Diana, the rest of the Family (with the exception of the Monarch) DIRECTS and CHAIRS charitable funds that provide for the needs of MILLIONS of people world wide. The disadvantaged, the starving, the homeless, th people affected by disaster and war. Diana DID what Diana was good at- held hands, hugged babies, said kind words.... and walked away.

Diana found her style with time. Her latest dresses were the best, most suitable for her. She had many of them in different colours or length. These are my favourite and I bet she felt like a new woman in them, comfortable and sure of herself. Clothes can do that to us. Not all of her early clothes were like that, maybe just the opposite. But she was very charming, had a very nice skin complexion, her eyes, when without too much make up, were really striking. Her blue eyeliner which she had used on her lower eyelid, did something magical for her. People said it was old fashioned but it suited her. She was always so immaculately turned out and I don't know how she did it. None of them in the royal family look like that. Kate wears far too much makeup, which makes her look older. Make up should be almost invisible, just to enhance our features, not draw them on our face. Diana did just that early on in her life as princess 😊

Like most people I found Diana's death so breath takingly sad. I've watched so many documentaries about Diana and the royals and read 100s of comments left by people. But one thing puzzles me, the fact that nobody ever mentions how her nose changed shape roughly three times during the years she was in the public eye. Sometimes a person gets surgery on their nose to alter the shape for it to magically sort of grow back again. So I assume that must have been the case. I think she had the bump filed off but it grew back. Anyone else notice ?

At first I was freaked out by the Southern Woman from Virginia, (weird bc I am Southern from Alabama) but we do not talk like that (lol 😂 , seriously, not that bad) but after knowing that One of Princess Diana’s dresses is in the South makes my heart ♥️ feel good, really good! We loved her too. It wasn’t the “Royalty “ that made Diana, she was Royalty without it! It is the fact that SOOOO MANY PEOPLE all across this world loved her simply because, She was an ANGEL on earth! Simply a WALKING ANGEL! And THAT is what drew people to her. Diana was too GOOD for this filthy place/world... She was Pure! God loaned her to us all to teach us something.. to teach us MANY different things. And, sadly, He took her back! But He knew what he was doing and what She could and would do!!! She did her earthly duties, and now, She is with The Lord, where She’s supposed to be! Safe, Happy, Loved, Watching Over Her Sons! She will NEVER be forgotten nor will She EVER be replaced!

I think you are correct in your assessment of her life and times. I had a scary thought about her future and men...Dodi Fayed was a son of super rich Muslim. The one before him, Dr. Hashet Khan, was married and also Muslim. They may look good to the outside world, but be sure, a wife becomes property and oppressed. SHE WAS WALKING BACK INTO UNHAPPINESS! I think God called her home to save her any more heartache.
