I really like hearing your take on it at the end. I enjoy hearing stories. Although when you said her father wanted to marry her, I thought you meant marry her off. A rough beginning but a nice middle & end 😅

I am from Czech Republic and I did not even know, that the original story comes from brothers Grimm. I've seen it last year I think, for the very first time. And I have the same opinion. It is not much suitable for children. But here in Czech Republic we have really beautiful TV fairytale based on this story. It is much more... fairytale-like (?) The princess, main character, is very beautiful and she even has a beautiful little golden star on her forehead. But her beauty and her golden star becomes a curse for her. Because not a very good person wants to marry her. His name is King Kazisvět (Kazisvět is a czech name for someone who spoils and destroys everything, especially nature... It is someone, who "destroys the world" basically. And of course the princess doesn't want to marry such a rude and cruel person, because she is very kind-hearted, gentle, lovely,... She loves her father, loves her nanny, loves nature, especially the garden, trees and flowers... She even gets up very early every day to water all the flowers in their royal garden herself... She once said to her father: "Tell all the people in our kingdom to water flowers in the mornings. Whoever sees a beautiful rose in the morning, they can't be sad during the day." But when she finds out from her father, that King Kazisvět wants to marry her, she doesn't want to marry him, so she thinks of three wishes he has to fulfill and she believes are impossible to fulfill. She wants three different dresses... First one must be sewn from the sun rays and morning mist and sprinkled with dew drops. Second one must be made of summer sky itself, light like a little tree leaf and and embroidered by the day light itself. Third one must be made of the warm summer night. The king brings the three dresses, but of course they are not made out of materials the princess was asking for. So she refuses them. This makes the king angry and he gives her two options. She will either marry him the next day, or the day after he is going to start a war against her kingdom. With the help of her nanny, she sews the cloth out of mouse skins... the cloth is so ugly that it would be able to hide her beauty and her star... She runs away to another kingdom, which is ruled by very kind-hearted young king. He also loves everything beautiful and alive... animals, flowers, sunsets... and he hopes to find love soon... Of course, it is a fairy-tale... Czech fairy-tale. And all of our fairy-tales have happy endings... Here is the link if you like... but you won't probably understand. I love it so much and I watch it every year on Christmas... because it is so tender, kind, lovely and magical.... And it is versed... The whole tale is told in verses... I love it so much!
