Such a beautiful and eloquent woman. I remembered her from the long ago speech at the Oscars and I'm glad to finally come across a more in depth interview with her. I was sorry to hear she is terminally ill.

As a transwoman, her protest reminds me of how we have been presented by bigoted men who run media who crafted an image of us as killers Ala Buffalo Bill. This framing of my people as psychotic is quite fashionable these days in circles that traditionally appeal to bigots. I'm talking about the gop, whose base love when trump used racist dogwhistles like pocahontas to characterize a female who lied about being an American Indian. We see this right wing bigotry in the way his supporters loved when he disrespected transpeople who served in the military with honor by discharging them in a tweet. We see this bigotry in most right wing media who justify the marginalization of American Indians based on their belief that they were even more ruthless to other tribes.
An amazing, captivating interview. I only recently learned about Sacheen, but she’s truly a remarkable woman. So brave, so eloquent, and so passionate- she’s a marvel!

She was a professional layer. No native Indian in her whole family. Must be great to become famous for lying. Then she speaks of the truth. Psychopath.
What a Lady- Littelfeather got the knowledge and a heart of gold, just to listen to her is a blessing-She is a great representation of the Indian people. She shows the way to a better future for them and for us.

Now that we know the truth, she had no native American Indian ancestry at all. She was a complete fraud. Professional #victimhood.
She is so gorgeous
This must be one of the EARLIEST discussions of Colonialism, as well as a BRILLIANT description of how Native spirituality can harmonize with Christianity. What a wonderful interview with Sacheen Littlefeather. ❤️
This was beautiful. What she had to say about suffering is true that it can lead us to an understanding of who we are. The question about do you like and love yourself is so important and so is the answer. it is the essence of our existence that we need to like and love our self and that people who grew up in places where this didn't happen are always going to struggle with this until we learn how to like and love ourselves. Such a truly beautiful person inside and out.
Wow !! What An Incredible Interview With An Extremely Beautiful, Positive !! & Encouraging Woman: Ms. Sacheen Little Feather. God Bless Her
Eloquent, beautiful, smart, insightful and brave.
So feminine and so charismatic! Great woman
I used to watch Father Riley shows occasionally back in the late '70's on KPIX 5 and KBHK 44 in the wee hours.
She handled this interview beautifully.
Amazing woman. Such a beautiful soul ❤️

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences apologized to the Native American activist and actor Sacheen Littlefeather, almost 50 years after she was met with disrespect and harassment as she declined Marlon Brando’s Oscar. (August 15, 2022). Sacheen Littlefeather passed away on October 2, 2022 at the age of 75 due to cancer.

Father Riley and Sacheen had probably known each other for quite sometime before this broadcast. They were both part of the then rather small San Francisco Bay Area television and radio union NABET. There were only 5 stations on VHF and only 3 stations on UHF back then. She was a director at KFRC and KQED and he had this show on KPIX for several years. Yes, he's asking her to explain who she is and where did all of her inspiration and passion derive from.

Makes me wish I had known her in person. She spoke so beautifully and I had no idea the struggles and challenges she faced in life. I really admire how the interviewer is looking at her with such admiration and hanging on every word. I also love that she said do you like yourself, do you love yourself. I found out in my 30's that is a very important thing. I thought it was being conseded to say you love yourself, it's not. You have to love yourself and I just love how she ask that and states it.

What a beautiful woman. I'm intrigued by her marriage of Native American beliefs and Catholicism...that is quite a marriage!! The great shame of Hollywood was to boo this dignified lady when she went on stage on behalf of Mr Brando. It is also interesting that Little feather uses the term Indian...which seems to have fallen out of favour...Native American being the favoured collective title for the native people of the US.

And thinking we the Latin-american(America is NOT JUST U.S. but the whole continent) are been many times so badly but despite all that, many of us share European roots, mostly from Spain. And what happened about Spanish Monarchy with America was a MIX of culture and socialization despite of battles, fights, discrimination could have also there was Assimilation between both sides, something that DIDN'T HAPPENED in U.S. It shocked me knowing U.S. Native people STILL live in reserves TODAY ! I mean, is kind of living in ghettos, in a middle of poorness and a LACK OF A NATIONAL IDENTITY ASSIMILATION. As I said I feel so proud to be American, to be Latin, to be Peruvian, despite I have European roots from Portugal and Spanish , but also from Africa and most important from Peruvian Native roots. We had NOT to live in reserves in the Past as U.S. does. We embrace all the differents roots could have but always we identify to our country history and people. Knowing the cuisine, the struggles, the victories, the music, the style of living of our country in a 21st century society and technology thou. So, STAY STRONG AMERICAN-NATIVE BROTHERS&SISTERS ♥🌎

Rest and peace Sweet angel
Damn she was hot. And poised, intelligent and eloquent as well. What a package. So tragic that our society at that moment in time offered so few opportunities for her.
Wow, she's been through a lot!
this woman was hypnotizingly beautiful and kind of enigmatic.
Many people threated her very badly when she received award in brando's place
What a great human being and woman. If people could open their minds and hearts to truly listen and embrace what Littlefeather said, they would not only improve themselves, but society as a whole. What a truly spirtual , deep person she was. She could see far beyond all the petty ways of this greedy, sickening society. The American Indians knew how to live life as God had intended it to be lived. It is such a waste the way the white man came along with their greed and hatred and ruined it all.
