This show had a very smart writing, the characters had perfect comedic timing, the first 3 seasons were gold!

Such a shame that seasons 4 and on were abysmal. I always thought there were more seasons at school, but nope. The repeats made it seem like there were more.

The first 3 seasons were really good. Season 4 was weird but that was mostly due to having some supporting characters leave and providing Sabrina with a new “best friend” whose personality wasn’t much better than a wet mop and Sabrina treated her terribly. She was supposed to be the girl’s magical mentor but she really only interacted with her when it suited her needs like having her fill in for her at Harvey’s football game or helping her and Harvey get back together. The only time Sabrina’s actions weren’t totally selfish was when Dreama was turned into a mouse by Brad the witch hunter and Sabrina had to remove the witch hunting gene so Dreama could be human again. However at the end of the episode Sabrina says the big upside to Brad not being a witch hunter anymore is that she can do magic on him and he wouldn’t be suspicious so the act of saving Dreama wasn’t without some perks for her too. The WB seasons were even more terrible. The point of the show was how Sabrina uses her magic to help her out with everyday situations but as the seasons went on she uses her magic less and less to the point where she doesn’t even miss it and even gives it up for one night. Being a witch was a huge part of her identity early on and she was proud to be a witch until her friends move into her aunt’s house with her and she has to mortal up the place. She came to see magic as an annoyance and something she could choose to use or not. If her aunts had been around more in the last season they would have been very disappointed in how mortal Sabrina had become.

@@ginsuma1402 and when I say the new story isn’t explained amazingly, I just mean plot holes and details on their powers and stuff. Obviously the powers are still explained better overall than the old show, because it’s more serious and less comedy

Sabrina was fantastic until the series moved to college. Season 7 was unwatchable without the aunts.

Season 6 was miles better than season 5, season5 cut back on the magical plots and removed Harvey, season 6 course-corrected.

I named my black cat Salem, I watched the original cartoon in the early 1970s and when I started watching this show, I never stopped laughing. This was a great show!
