they do use a real cat sometimes, like when salem got sprayed and ran off, that was a real cat. They use a puppet for when he is talking, If he is just doing normal cat stuff they use a real cat! :)

Witches are forbidden from interfering in matters regarding love, they have to rely on Cupid for that.

The show may of been weird at times but it was still funny! Including the moments with Salem.

My mom had a black cat named Salem during the Late 1970 era , I used to tease My mom about being a witch And having to hide my mom's Broom during October so her And Salem would not get stuck in a tree . My mom Had a wart on her nose , And was born in Salem Illinois .

I love Salem the cat...Nick Bakay, his voice actor, is from Buffalo, NY. I also have a cat who looks like Salem...I pretend he's Salem's distant relative :P

If I remember correctly, Hilda was a follower of Salem during his whole world domination gig. I think her punishment was to take care of him while he was a cat. So... might have.

That’s right it was her honestly the best move the show did was bringing her in but she’s better in the two movies as her chemistry with Melissa was amazing plus they’re still friends to this day

Salem was the greatest cat ever to hear tv wizards of waverly place can't compare with this show do a comparison of the two shows however and there are alot of similarites but this is much better honestly when was the last time wizards had a wisecracking cat
