That's because Zoro is his brother. Usopp may be his best friend but Zoro is his found brother like no other on the crew akin to Roger and Rayleigh.

For anyone that doesn't know, Sakazuki(Akainu's actual name) means the exchange of cups in Japanese. It was the exchange of cups that formed a brotherhood. Then, it was one that ended the bond and brought one lost back into the fold by remembering the action that brought them together. Sabo reading the words Sakazuki and Ace in the headline were the triggers that were necessary to regain his memories, and it all overwhelmingly came back to him until he lost consciousness. This happened the same week that Luffy was knocked out, which means both brothers were incapacitated at the same time due to Ace's death. It's these kinds of details and easter eggs that make Oda a master storyteller.

@@SSSUKSSS I think it was one of the Reverie streams. I don't know which one. They were talking for a good while how meticulous and intrinsic Oda puts in to his work. To be fair, this tidbit about Akainu and the sake cups has been known for over 10 years now.

If there's one thing that matches up to Oda's foreshadowing, it's his use of symbolism.

Something about how strongly Sabo reacts is really cathartic to me.

One brother had to live with the fact did all he could and was too incapable While, the other brother had to live with the fact that he couldn't do a single thing about it.

Man, if only Sabo's memory had come back sooner. He'd have taken an entire squad to Marineford to help rescue Ace.

This scene always makes me tear up for Sabo. His memories finally come back, and not only is it because he found out one of his brothers is dead, but he also knows Luffy must be suffering just as much, if not worse, and he can't do anything to help.

Ngl the sabo flashbacks are one of the best series I saw on this channel 👌

Idk how was that feels when you lost someone when you have an amnesia like sabo, but i do know what that feels when you lost someone when you're not around your family,,,, I've lost my father cause of Corona, and he die in quarantine hospital when i was sleep (it happens in midnight and after i come home from work), it's heartbreaking tho, i almost lost my sanity, even I'm still crying when i use some my father's old stuff, i still thinking why god didn't take my life at first,,, so my point is, i exactly know what Hibou's feeling after react this scene

In the flashback before the timeskip, that's literally what Sabo wrote to Ace before departing to sea and fleeing his parents.

Sabo lost his brother and almost lost his Little brother. Im sure sabo will protect his little brother at any cost. 😢

Ace didn't had haki but sabo had armament and observation haki and dragon claw aswell so i don't think that would have happened

@@tarikizgua1835 he had i also saw his backstory with whitebeard but he didn't use it that time and as you saw sabo his haki was shown to us when he was 17 in colour (Black haki for armament) and in Ace case they didn't show that

@@BlackShadow-nm5bw Back when Ace died, Oda still didn't use black to showcase Haki. There were several instances of people using it and it not showing. It was simply a case of Ace's haki being weaker than Akainu's, or Ace being taken by surprise for defending his brother.

@@Saturnina39 m saying when Ace was 17 Sabo was also 17 and they showed Sabo haki but didn't show Ace and we all know Ace was a guy who was good at using DF over haki so he didn't use it most of the times And sabo was using haki from the start so he was better at using haki than Ace As Kaido said haki is everything if you want to conquer the seas and ace became a donut 🍩 only because he was fire if it is any other person he will just melt and it's not gonna happen cause most of the top tears have great Observation haki

Ace had to soak that punch to save Luffy. If it wasn't for that Ace would have been a very tough opponent even for admiral. He was on par with Akainu like how he vaporized his ice easily.
