Sabbath Assembly - In the time of Abaddon II
Музыка
"In the Time of Abaddon II" is the first music video from Sabbath Assembly's "Ye Are Gods."
Directed, shot and edited by Jason Keenan and Derek Abramson of Cinders and Ash Media, the video introduces viewers
to a cataclysmic onslaught of Processian imagery, past and present, as Genesis P-Orridge narrates
the impending doom of the Apocalypse according to text by Process Church founder Robert deGrimston.
New vocalist Jamie Myers then offers a chant from the "Discourse on Abaddon," an ancient Coptic scroll that
reveals the history and purpose of the Angel of Death -- Abaddon: King of This World, a source of terror, to whom
every person shall bow at the time of their death... no escape. Welcome to Hell.

me too... I love the imagery
I was so entranced listening to this I forgot I was cooking food next thing I know there is smoke billowing from the cooker "oh deary me I thinks i best do something about that smell and sight and turn the cooker off for I was in for a short time a state of fright"

+indiglo1971 how else can a man be born or woman for that matter but through a woman? silly proverb that one!
Jex will be missed, but I recognize that Ye are gods is such a great album. I love the neo folk influences and its thematic, as the Sacrifist's speech.
For those wondering (like I was), Jex left Sabbath shortly before the recording of this album to focus on her solo material. That being said, I definitely agree that Restored To One was the stronger album, but Ye Are Gods has grown on me, particularly the part Genesis P-Orridge plays. Jamie Meyers is a great vocalist, but something about Jex's performance on the last record just really stands out. I like Jamie, but I miss Jex.
great call - I like what I'm hearing...it's not that I dislike this, it's quite interesting....but I can never work out whether this kind of thing, or the Alex Sanders Witch LP I own, or Aleister Crowley and his various connections (all of which are intriguing) are not , in fact, some enormous joke.... it's rather hard to take seriously. But the imagery is terrific.
Pity that Jex left the band but Jamie Myers sounds great too. I think her voice fits in very well.
although i deeply worship jex as well, i find ms. myers more fitting to this vision, kind of different perspective so to say. i'd love to see them both live in this shape though! as for the next jex thoth album... i REALLY hope there's REALLY something to wait for! if you know anything please deliver it to the world ;)
I love Jex too, but this is a great album. Don't hate on Jamie Myers just because she isn't Jex, it's not a "knock off," it's an excellent album.
Loved the first LP, but this ? Dont know, man, I stopped Iron Monkey to listen to this. Now, where were we?
I don't know why these cry babys are nagging about the out of Jex and this versión with Jamie, for me it's a great song and the progress of music is in his natural way, i really enjoy it.
Why did Pitchfork plug this....
where's Jex? :(
Sabbath Assembly é uma das melhores bandas que eu ouvi nos ultimos tempos. É uma pena que dificilmente eles venham fazer shows no Brasil.
at least as serious as coven and jinx dawson were!
if you don't like it that's ok. but these are recordings of the hymns and texts of the process church of the final judgement, not really music that tries to portray ol' school stuff or anything like that. check out previous female singer's band "jex thoth" if you like black sabbath :)
Is this supposed to be a joke? I was looking for obscure Black Sabbath stuff ... I assume this is a mickey-take of all those late 60s bands like Black Widow, Monument etc ... it's a bit like that terrible Alex Sanders LP on A+M.
ahaha ok ok i didn't get your point sorry dude. well personally i don't feel the need to be into something that fills the music i like concept-wise. i mean, i don't have to be buddhist to be interested in buddhism or i don't have to share someone's ideas to enjoy his/her works even though it's pretty obvious as well that my tastes influence my actions and vice versa. ok quite complicated i know but in truth it's way simpler :D i guess they're quite serious anyway, due to their background!
Huge fan of the first lp, but this is kinda disappointing.
No Jex? Fuck this knock off shit.
