========= Long Live The King LYRICS ==========
Dreams are seldom shattered by a bullet in the dark
Rulers come and rulers go, will our kingdom fall apart?
Who shall we now turn to, when our leaders lost their heart?
Lives are lost but at what cost, will the grand dream fall apart?
Killed by his own or by his foes, turned the tide
Three hundred years still no one knows, the secret remains
Broken dreams so grand, sing of his final stand, long live Carolus
Brought by soldiers’ hand, back to the fatherland, long live Carolus Rex
Brought him back to Sweden, where we put him in a chest
Years of war and agony, now the king can finally rest
What will be uncovered, from that cold November night
Fredrikshald, what happened there, will it ever come to light?
For their honor
For their glory
For the men that fought and bled
A soldier from Sweden remembers the dead
========= Historic Fact ==========
On November 30, 1718, Charles XII of Sweden was killed by a piece of metal that pierced his left temple during the siege of Fredriksten. The circumstances of his death are still unclear to this day.

The circumstances actually aren’t unclear anymore. A university in Finland figured out it was the enemy who killed him. They did this by doing tests on a ballistics dummy and determined that it couldn’t have been a friendly from close range and that it was a piece of grapeshot that killed him.

@@dorozi8202 no. I am not him, but I know he wasn’t since the current royal family isn’t the same and no other royal titles exist in Sweden. Our current royal family (Bernadotte) is the one that replaced Karl XIIs family (Vasa). Since the two have no history aside from the replacement (and Bernadotte is an originally French family. Also, aside from possible illegitimate children the Vasa family no longer exists. The family was on the verge of death over and over as everyone kept having only one child (except Gustav, the first of them all, who had 14. Unfortunately, the three men killed each other and the women didn’t give birth to more than 3 children who in turn had no children). Happens when you’re constantly leading armies from age 16 to 40 (not just Karl XII, his father, his grandfather, his great grandfather and his great great grandfather all did this) and your wife is sitting at home waiting for you.

WOW, so many comments already after 1 hour only. Makes me very proud to be swedish and a Saboton fan, 63 years old.
