On June 22nd, 1941, the Germans launched a massive invasion of Russia, also known as Operation Barbarossa, consisting of 3 million German troops entering Russian soil. Operation Barbarossa was one of the largest ground invasion in history. This was the main goal of Lebensraum, or in other words, taking over the world. The Germans started to enter Moscow. Soviet commanders have decided the fate of Russia, it is now or never. They've launched over 2 million troops against the German army, defending the capital fearsly. The Defence of Moscow went successful, and pushed them all the way back to Berlin. Operation Barbarossa was ended on December 5th, 1941.
