SAAB CONVERTIBLE ROOF FLUID REPLACEMENT

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

A quick video to show how to flush and change the fluid in you SAAB convertible cabriolet.
Not a big different after, a little faster but the liquid was the same since I own the car ( 8 years... ) and it was so dirty and dusty inside...
No special tools needed, just a 13mm key or socket and something pump or seringe to vaccum.
REF GM part:
www.skandix.de/en/spare-parts/...
From the brand Pentosin, that's a very high quality alternative product that i use now as it's starting difficult to find original GM fluid without paying the price of a gold bar...

    My 99 9-3 had a real problem opening and closing the soft top. I ordered the LiquiMoly from Scandix in Germany (took 5 weeks to get it though!). Today I followed your instruction and there was only 80 ml that I could suck out. filled it up, tested, filled it up again and also lubricated all pivoting points, It is working great again now. Thank you so much for the clear instruction..

    Thank you so much for the tutorial man! I used to get about 6 soft top errors before it would eventually open/close but now it works smooth and much faster!

    Excellent and timely video as I am in the market to buy a Saab convertible and preparing my list of maintenance. This part was always a mystery until now! I was looking to see if there were a way to drain it but I am happy to see that refilling three times works and that it self burps/bleeds. Two questions please: 1. What year is the Saab in the video? 2. What is that "T" valve in the hole showing on the pump mechanism (before and after you replace the metal box/protector ? Thank you.

    Hi and thanks for your kind comment. My 9.3 is a 2002 aero, and the “T” is the manual roof operation in case of problem. Cheers

    How often would you recommend replacing this oil?

  • @psv1600

    @psv1600

    Erik Deutsch honestly I don’t know the schedule maintenance, I did it as I wanted to change my power steering fluid also. But I would recommend every 2 or 3 years depending how you use the car. In any case I never follow the maintenance schedule in my car so make always better as it’s the basics to keep your cars long. And it’s not a hodge expense to change oil or Dot4 or steering fluid...

    psv1600 hi change mine every three years - cheaper than new rams for sure - easy job really - need to make sure to use fluid recommended by Saab Always believe fluids cheaper than comments ! Do oil and filter every 6 months - coolant three years - gearbox oil three years - Power steering fluid three years - brake fluid 18 months to two years - hopefully will keep my 2005 Aero going for a few more years 🙏
