@@norroberts4474 to answer your question. I have never heard of any foreigner teaching a subject besides English in South Korea. I would advise you to do a bit more research on that because my knowledge is limited. However, if ever I was in your position and I was a qualified teacher specializing in a subject, I would go to China. China pays way more than South Korea and they are always on the lookout for English speaking teachers who specialize in certain subjects.

if it makes you feel better - in ontario, canada it’s like 200 dollars at least per week for groceries 😀 it used to be we could last a good month on $200-400 of groceries for a family of 6 and now it’s double 😭(note these are prices in canadian dollars)

Super informative! You are so well spoken. I'd love to know how to apply directly to schools. So many people also say one should apply directly to schools so as to not be used by the recruitment agencies but how does one know if it's a scam or not? My daughter wants to start studying teaching next year so that she can go to SK after her 4 year degree. I'm at the planning stages.

Thanks for the detailed share and as someone whose just got introduced to your content i have gime through your journey and in matter of an hour or so experienced you go from three months italkie teacher to a SK teacher am impressed. Im a male and in my mid forties and the SA economy has forced me to look for extra income and am a bit intimidated as most successful teachers seek to be female and younger. What would you advise in overcoming these silly barrier in my mind?

Is it possible to teach Economics in South Korea if you from SA? The reason I ask that because I never saw anyone who said he/she teach Physics or Economics or Business it's always English

So, I came to rewatch this video again just after my two weeks long research about teaching traveling and earning in Korea and I have to say that yes, it's only you who provided much needed authentic information about cost of living there. Seems like other vloggers are pretty dumb ass only interested in partying wasting their viewers time about the real earnings. I asked two others and they didn't know a thing about currency prices difference and rate of inflation of same commodities that any average salaried working professional earns in Korea. Your videos has calmed my mind as I found my answers to further evaluation and putting efforts to go there. Lastly, yes it's insane how food related items groceries are so bloody expensive there. This has given me at least one more reason to love my country India. Anyway, you enjoy your time and opportunities there!

This is a great video thank you so much, it's very cheap living in Korea regardless of that the food seems a bit more expensive however South Africa remains extremely expensive because we pay high tax and accomodation is not free. For an example I get paid R40K before tax and my tax is just above R8k and our apartment is now R11800, Sandton is very expensive with food because my friend who is single spends R3000 my husband and I R5000 so ja we coming 😂😂😂😂.

Omg! Your tax is above 8k??? That’s crazy. I’ve always loved the part about not paying rent because its one less thing to worry about, especially because housing is expensive in most countries - including Korea. Anyway, if those are your numbers then I definitely think living here would make a difference for you so come! 😂❤(and congrats on earring 40k in SA👌🏽)

@@segoleetrudz You usually only sign a one year contract. After your contract expires, your employer asks you if you want to renew your contract or not and it’s up to you. But legally, you can’t sign a contract that is for more than 1 year because the visa you’re on doesn’t offer contracts like that. You have to renew every year. And no, you don’t have to go back home to sort out your visa. That can be sorted out while you’re in Korea.

With a Swaziland passport you do not qualify. I think South Africa is the only African country regarded as a Native English speaking country ( By these Asian countries)

It's hard to get a non English teaching job from what I've heard since your employer needs to show why they'd hire you over a south korean
