Let alone all the lens flare type lights the pixel and iphone had at 11:17. Granted, if you're taking a photo whilst a full on air bombardment is happening then possibly not an issue

You have to be blind to not see that the S21 had more noise than the iPhone. Or you have a low res screen with inadequate brightness.

@@michaliskossyfas5862 To be honest it does truly look different on other screens. On the initial screen that I watched it which was a IPS 1440p display it truly was like what I said but on other displays I can see it more

i love how you called out the orange skin tone of iphone’s selfie. sometimes, it even looks yellowy greenish skin tone.

13:05 but the iphone also has night portrait mode! You had to use the main camera instead of the telephoto and it will come out automatically.

Believe me, the pixel looked like I was seing a ghost and you cannnot edit that video. I prefer a darker cleaner image that I can brighten later. I go 100% with his choice

Watching it on my pixel 5. Actually I really like the look of the photos that pixel takes.

I use a pixel 4a 5g which takes almost identical photos to pixel 5. I must admit that it's really hard to take a bad photo with this phone. 😂 Very consistent results doesn't matter what time of day it is.

More or less, all smartphones these days took really amazing pictures. So, whatever we buy will depend on what are specs are available along with it.

Awesome comparisons, but disappointed you haven't made one for the base models, S21, iPhone 12, Pixel 5 and either Note 20 or S20. These are the phones that people buy the most. I'm always looking for regular S21 photo comparisons. Also, I can't even find an S21 review or unboxing on your channel? :o

@@ssaini5028 Unless you are really interested in some specific parts of the zoom lenses or video, I definitely agree. The primary camera with GCam is consistantly outstanding for this price.

S21 uses the main sensor for portraits , just like the pixel and s20, the only phone that uses the telephoto lens is the iPhone which has a night mode when shooting night portraits .

Daniel! Nice video! But, when you talk about low light portrait shot youre saying something wrong! Samsung do not use the telephoto, it just crop the main sensor like the pixel, you can easy check it trying to take a foto and covering the main sensor, The last time samsung used the telephoto for portraits was with the 10 series

Imagine Pixel 5 were equipped with a Snapdragon 888 and a telephoto camera.

I would say the Pixel, as expected, did well in low-light, so if that is your thing then it is a possible choice. Went through about 500 of my photos and not one was in low-light so irrelevant for me. Owning the s20U I can attest to the fact that its cameras were vastly overrated and a poor camera phone. I kept my Pixel 3XL to take photos rather than selling that and barely use the s20U cameras. The s21U was always going to be the favourite as it has better optical zoom if that is your thing so I was surprised the iPhone got so close. I think I would choose the s21U for its versatility but the iPhone is better by further on the stuff I would use it for so either would be great. I do not use my camera in low-light (mainly work) so the Pixel would not be my choice as it was favoured by the many low-light picks.

Idk I disagree, I have the s20u and ive always been very satisfied with the results. My friend has the s21u and in daylight the shots are so similar ( both snapdragon ). Also you can now get the s20u for $700 brand new while the s21u is $1200 for base storage. The s21u is definitely an upgrade (except the battery life is worse) but I still really enjoy the camera's on the s20u

The reality is that any difference is not transcending, my issue is that there should be no variance no matter where you live and the inequity of two chipsets needs to be sorted by Samsung. I just hope that if the new Exynos with xAMD is a killer, Samsung does not then switch Europe over to Snapdragon and sell the better Exynos/xAMD to N America/S Korea, as that would be another kick where it hurts!

I switched to the Sony Xperia phone and will never go back to another phone. The most underrated camera phone. I just got tired of the over processing that everyone seems to like these days in their snapshots using the auto settings. I prefer setting my own controls to get that natural look. Taking more time to think about my composition improves my images I take.

Perfect test. And I think it comes down to your personal mood. With one test I had a total different opinion. The Slow Motion test (test #13). Although, the Samsungs had the best 'slow motion', the sharpness of the footage of the Samsungs are really terrible. In fact, you cannot use it. In this case, I prefer the iPhone. Very crisp footage.

for 10:50, i had used s20+ at night and it took sodium lamps very yellow everytime, and i see s20 ultra also has very yellow lights while iphone is closer to sodium color. So It would be good if you also consider colors. I think they matter as much as details, to me at least

In raw comparison: the iPhone clearly showed banding (a hard orange outline) whereas there was 0 banding with the 12bit Raw captured with the S21 Ultra due to much more bit depth.

It would be Good if the phones become that sophisticated to offer different city experiences based on the model people chose to buy. Also if phones are integrated with digital citizen ID (medical records, LinkedIn, AppleID, etc) 🙃

When you factor in the high score of the Pixel 5 and it's about HALF the price of all the other phones, it's a great bang for buck value.

Good effort, but you seem to rely a lot on HDR capabilities. A good HDR photo is not the one that keeps the mosteshadow and highlight details, but the one that does that while keeping a good contrast and avoiding flat appearance. Both the Pixel and Iphone do better here.

The S21 ultra is the only phone capable of 12bit RAW. You didn't try that out because it's difficult to find it in the setting

Something looks wrong with the raw test. Google cam has luma and chroma denoiser in the computational raw. There's no way it will exhibit as much noise as any other Android camera apps. It should actually look more like the image from the iPhone, especially not looking worse thane than the S20 Ultra. How genuine were those results, I wonder... I have a S20 Ultra Exynos, Note 20 Ultra Snapdragon, both with Gcam 8.x, and a Pixel 5. I use them for raws and process the images on Photoshop/Lightroom. Even using Gcam on a Galaxy will bring better or cleaner raws than the native Samsung camera app. Also, in this raw comparison, the iPhone had no details in the shadows on the opposite side of the water. The sky shows too much saturation and looks already edited and has been pushed too far, showing banding... Galaxy camera app don't have computational raw, just basic old school one. For the night shot, you totally ignored the bad light reflections on the iPhone and the Pixel. Something that can totally spoil a photo... Astrophotography mode can be forced using Gcam. I can take one of 4 minutes inside my home. But to make it fairer, you should have used a location dark enough that it would activate. Night time, for the timelapse, having no details in the shadows isn't an issue as it's natural. The iPhone looked the best, because it's still looked like night time. It especially managed to keep the stars, making it much more interesting. Low light selfie: iphone so dark it's unusuable but you find it better? Really? The Pixel would be the easiest to correct while the recovering of the shadows on the others would introduce too much noise and much of it seemed lost already. Your comparison shows well the potential of all the phones as well as their weaknesses and is usefull for that. But your personal conclusions should be ignored because too often wrong from a photogaphic or filming viewpoint.

Excellent comparison. It shows better how good pixel is where without a telephoto len still manages to get so high score. For its price it is the best!

13:03 The s21 Ultra doesn't use the 3x zoom when shooting portrets, even when you use the more zoomed in version. It crops into the main sensor.
