I think it takes better portraits but I have to say that the iphones have a more forgiving edge detection which means it's more consistent.

@@YgorCortes No not as frequent as it should and you need to turn on scene optimiser for that. Plus, the processing can be a bit different from the dedicated night mode. (Based on my experience with the Note)

I must say, the Pixel 5 with a 4 year old sensor is still amazing. Imagine what the Pixel 6 "hopefully" will bring to the camera system.

The super-versatile cameras on S21 Ultra produces very good results even in the most diverse lighting situations

Interesting review! That video clip of the seagulls was quite impressive. Zooms matters to me for landscape photography or videos. That's why I had the S20U Exynos, but battery and overheating issues made me move to a Note20U Snapdragon soon after. Because I was using Gcam a lot on the Note, when not zooming, I got a Pixel 5. The native Google camera app is excellent, especially the astrophotography mode and computational raw, but the very old sensor and lack of storage made me move back to the Note20U. (And the Gcam devs do a great job making it almost as good for the main lens.) So that's why I was eagerly waiting for the S21U and yet it's such a disappointment! The 108mp sensor still suffers from that weird processing it seems (a 20MP DSLR will still get better - real - details than the 108MP sensor, especially for high frequency details like foliages), the zooms still can't be enforced on photos (you don't switch to them, you zoom in and the phone decides if it'll use the zoom or a crop in based on available light and focus - covering the laser sensor with a filter leads to crop in only on the Note20). On top of that, the lack of memory expansion is bit annoying. 4K HDR and 8K footage, or all the apps that give an increased video bitrate will eat the 512Gb storage in no time. This is a move from Samsung that can't understand. I hope they get it right on the Note 21 - and that Google will finally upgrade their camera hardware on the Pixel 6.

Just got a S21U from Hong Kong (snapdragon). It's actually much better than the Note 20 Ultra and I still got Gcam to work on it (8.1 from Arnova).

I would love to see S21 Ultra vs Mate 40 PRO+ camera comparison. Two of most beastly mobile phone camera setups right now.

I keep the Pixel, l have Pixel 4A, and for 350USD, very very satisfied in everything.

Is there a possibility that a software update would allow the S21 Ultra to use 3x for portrait mode? Or is that something that cant be updated through software updates

Blurriness at the edge on S21 Ultra is not processing issue. It's caused by lens. For example Huawei solved this by slightly cropping final photo so it is sharp edge to edge, corner to corner.

Is it snapdragon or exynos?

We want to see how big improved from note 20 ultra

Snapdragon 888 is better in some cases , like the 100x zoom. The Exynos version is much blurry from 20x zoom and up. And snapdragon version handles lighting better

Do you think samsung will fix the blurry and smudgyness of pictures cropped in amount other flaws?. I, kind of surprised based on the large sensor size. Haven't purchased q phone in a while and I hope samsung will continue improving their camera with software updates

That telephoto is so nice on the S21 Ultra, will be awesome to see on upcoming phone releases, but I will never shell out anything about $400 on a phone. Got a Pixel 4a 5g for $350 only used for 2 months, has the exact same camera and hardware setup as Pixel 5. IMO, I don't see why I would waste that kind of money on a phone.

I love how dedicated and passionate you are about your work, really makes the content feel personal and richer.

Your videos are the one I trust. You point out issues others reviews don’t mention at all. The edge details, artifacting, noise comparison. Great job! I still think Samsung has a tier 2 camera compared to the iPhone. I’ve preordered the S21 U. It’s always going to be like that. 😞

The S21 Ultra has a dedicated night mode which the youtuber who created this video didn't use in his comparison.

So Samsung need to update and fix camera. Did new HM3 camera sensor do it? - much better HDR, - dinamic range, - Portraits on x3, - fix blurry edges, - slow motion, - night mod photos and videos.

I looked at some full resolution sample images and in my opinion it's obvious that the soft edges are caused by the lens. So no software update will fix that.

@@GAZDA82 Nobody uses Dex and not much difference between 90hz and 120hz. Pixel fingerprint sensor is faster and more accurate than the S21 Ultra in display one. Pixel still uses an all metal build the Samsung uses cheap plastic on a $1200 phone unacceptable

Brilliant comparison, one of the best. What you have highlighted what no others have... Why didn't Samsung use the 3x zoom for portrait? It's the ideal focal length to produce flattering images.. what they used is a wide angle then cropped it. Unbelievable, why Samsung? Why? You have a dedicated lens and you've done it before with S10+ ? So they actually left apple off the hook. iPhone still is best for portraits.

I'm a big fan of Zoom, been saying long before phones implemented optical Zoom that it was a must. So for that reason alone I would choose the S21 Ultra. That said, the overall best camera is coming from the iPhone 12 pro max. The Last 3 or 4 years the iPhone just takes better photos than Samsung devices. Samsung went backwards starting with the Note 8

Apple needs to make the camera 48 megapixels with options to shoot in 12 megapixels, 24mp, and 48mp. They need to make the sensor bigger so they can have more resolution and add more features like Astro mode, super slo mo, 6k video, and a macro mode. With these camera improvements and with apples software, they would demolish the competition and the iPhone already has a top tier camera, so it would make sense why they would be the best with better hardware

Please make a video on s21 camera. Specifically it's portrait mode.

Pixel has the best hrd lifting up shadows even on videos. The videos from pixel are actually good if oragnic defails are considered and not the processed sharpening things.

My thoughts are that the Pixel 5 is the most impressive given it’s price point ( I am talking just from a camera perspective) . I like the zoom on the Samsung and the great low light video on the iPhone, but do I think they are worth the extra money for those features over the Pixel? No is my answer. But I do think a great camera needs to be accompanied by a screen good enough to take advantage of this. The Samsung , iPhone will top the Pixel there but I still would pick the Pixel. To be honest I would swap the Pixel 5 for the 4a 5G model. That is the best bang for the buck that can hold its own with the best / most expensive flagships and the screens still are good. enough to show the images nicely. I really think we are not seeing a big enough step up with flagship phones to warrant the money , especially for most people’s eyes .

@@CK-ox2br It must be a feature directly adopted from previous Galaxy 20s with only periscope lens for zoom. Maybe 3X portrait is just not ready and left for a future update. But maybe it's just the way Samsung is, brainless in software. Samsung could have used 108MP & cropping for 2-5x zoom last year, but it never did so.

S 21 ultra Stabilisation during "run" is pure failure with perfection, unfortunatley.

In my opinion the reason why the pixel and the iPhone only has 5 and 7x zoom is because no one uses 100x zoom on a daily basis.

Seems like you have some pre launch software problems. The iphone and pixel have had months of AI learning and so many updates.

I've always been a Telephoto guy more than Ultrawide angle guy. I'm not particularly happy with my Note 20 Ultra but I think that, camera aside, overall is still better than the S21 Ultra. Spen and MicroSD card make the difference for me.

I don't know why you would call zoom lens on the S21 ultra creepy when it's an amazing lens. I think you're an iPhone fanboy

Noticed that pixel 5's photos and videos depicting his skin tones more correctly than the other two. I understand that the iphone goes for the warmer, more pleasing look but I prefer it more than the samsung. Plus, dynamic range on the iphone is insane when it comes to video. I still think samsung even after all these years is still behind these two when it comes to camera performance imo.

we can say everything but the iPhone 12 pro Max is the most polyvalent photophone

All other reviews say the s21 ultra has a big night mode improvement this guy says flat out in this video he didn't even use night mode on the Samsung. He said auto mode with scene optimizer that's not night mode at all.

What about Huawei p40 plus which introduce the same technology a year ago.

It`s cool all reviewers emphazise low light photos/videos are really garbage, everything else s21 ultra is the king (kinda still hoping mi 11 pro/ultra gonna beat it)

Haha I just got an iphone12 pro max and I think the cameras are terrible compared to my Google Pixels 3xl. I thought the iPhone was way way darker and stuff was blurry in the background. I hate the iPhone...it’s getting returned.

Single take is gimmick ? Come out of your studio and take survey of Samsung users and ask them whether they feel its gimmick or useful. Btw video was good

Budget is no problem bro. Currently I'm using my most favorite phone oneplus 7 pro and I'm using this phone before his death.. 7pro is a genius bro.. I'm using 1 year and 10 month without No problem face..
