Should of put some pictures up of the faction your talking about. I don't know any of the factions, so probably the most important thing to collecting is how it looks plus how it plays.

Super glad to see a new one of these, I always send the old one to my friends when I'm trying to get them into the game.

@@MrMalorian I think it would be a great idea to make deeper dive videos that are faction specific introducing the warcasters and basic synergies with their faction maybe even a splash of lore. Around 10-15 min long. Something that this video leads into.

@@MrMalorian It woul be great on a theme force level. It took me weeks to decide which faction I want to pick and only the LOS university articles convinced me in the end to pick Storm Division. Without them I'd probably still be undecided.

As a Skorne player myself all I can say is that most of our stuff sucks and yes I am genuinely surprised when I win.

glad to see someone else doing lore vids. i've been doing lore vids for years and i was the only doing it. so glad for the company.

Pictures! Pictures of models! Pictures of factions! It's a video, not a podcast, Malorian ;) Make these factions come to life by actually showing them.

Long post! tl;dr - Me and my friend are about to try Warmachine for (mostly) the first time. Starter boxes bought, Thanks for the summary. So me and one of my friends just decided to try warmachine/hordes. We had a warhammer 40k group back in the mid 90s and the early 2000's before going off into board games and Dungeons and dragons. When Warmachine was new, I got one of the Menoth boxes and the Prime(?) rulebook and thought it was really cool but that was when we had pretty much stopped with miniature wargames so I never did anything with it. I never really liked warhammer 40k (the game) because, other than the movement phase, I felt like there was very little choice that made a difference (this was 3rd edition, I think). When I got the menoth box for warmachine, the way focus was spent really added a new layer of choice and it just felt like a better design though I never really got to try it out. I just bought a cygnar start box and my friend got the skorne one. We are pretty casual and the modeling part is probably the bigger part of this for us but if you know a good discord to find wartable games for beginners, just let us know! Thanks!

Welcome to the game :) From the General Warmachine group on facebook you should be able to link into a lot of group. Currently there are a bunch of discords going with their own events. You may also want to check out Brawlmachine and the Brawlmachine discord.

Thanks for doing this. My only feedback would be that you could throw up a picture of what the factions look like (Forces book covers maybe?) for a few seconds as a visual aid. And squeeze mentioning Cephalyx in there somewhere, though I realize they are the mini-est of mini factions:P

Getting a Khador Battlegroup soon, so I'm excited to see how they play

I'm just getting into Warmahordes (Crucible Guard and Bones of Orboros) and I really liked this video. I think now creators can go in and add "chapters" to their videos to split them up into different categories. That would be a really great way for people looking for specific information. Also pictures but that's hard to do post upload. :)

Can you mix horses and warmachine for example using the minions or mercs on the opposite?

When you say “combat” are you talking about melee? As in close quarters, hand to hand combat?

I know locally after 8th edition 40k burnout nobody is playing 9th edition and we have over 20 new Warmachine/Hordes players and having events, etc. So it seems to be coming back with a fury in some places.

I'm a big train nut but have never played these figurine games. This one intrigues me. Would you say that the Crucible Guard would appeal to a train fanatic and someone who doesn't want to buy too many figures?

That could work. If you go with the huge bases you wouldn't need many. Maybe look to see if you can find some second hand models to help keep the cost down.
