S1E16 Sprinter Van Conversion | All Van Upgrades

See all the van upgrades since the original van build in 2018. A lot of things have changed, or should I say have been added.
While living in a van you are constantly figuring out a better way for something to work or operate, hence you are always upgrading, and its fun, the project never ends in a way.
Some things in this video never made the cut of the original van build series, like the solar wind diffuser, the insulation in the back doors and the bed/couch locking latch. Other things I have recently changed.

In regard to your bed being difficult to slide open and closed you may try mounting it on the end with heavy duty drawer slides.

After a van to do a fit out of my own and it’s great to get tips from other people’s experiences of their build of what they did and were happy with and what they did and had to refix . We are all human and nobody is perfect. Fantastic video with great advice given. Much appreciated..Travel safe mate..👍🍻

The door flaps are very vaginal-esque. Very earthy, like entering/exiting the womb. Love your earth solar van. You guys are extremely clever.

Cheers mate, South Australia now. The engine itself was AUD $8000. there was 30 hours of labour which amounted to AUD$3600. and there was a bunch of other things they replaced too whilst doing the engine rebuild. All up it was around AUD$16000

Ive been telling van builders for years to stay away from sprinters there absolute garbage im a professional mechanic and use to maintain a fleet of sprinters most blew there engines at 100k only a few made it to 200k. I always recommend going ram promaster ford transit or Toyota for my European friends. Im currently building a ram promaster 170 extended length for my future travels hopefully you wont need another engine in a 100k good luck

The service intervals on the sprinters I think are 30,000kms which is crazy long. I have decided to replace my oil and oil filter and 10,000kms just for piece of mind, normally I think people do 15,000kms for diesels. Honestly mate, in 5 years ICE Internal combustion engines will begin to be heavily phased out, and by 2030 it will be almost a joke to own a ICE vehicle because of how inefficient they are and costly, I would run an electric powertrain today if I could but the tech isn't wide spread enough and cheap enough, but that is rapidly decreasing. Doing the best with what I have available today, but all ICE engines are a joke compared to electric.

@@JaznLori I agree Jaz. Petrol or diesel, I've always religiously changed oil and filter every 10,000 kms, with an added straight oil change (only), in between (so every 5,000 kms) Using this philosophy, I've managed to help keep my partners Kia Rio ticking over merrily at 320,000 and counting without burning a drop of oil. My hope is that our recently purchased (May of this year) Sprinter will behave itself as well, once we can finally hit the roads (currently about half way through our build) Which brings me to say, thanks so much for all your valuable content! There are not too many van build days that go by where I don't find myself referring to at least one of your videos. Safe travels, Nigel.
