The 69 Charger is the sexiest car ever made in my opinion.

My first car was a 71 Charger 318 Green with a half vinyl top white, and a white racing stripe down the sides. That's when I fell in love with Mopar. I wish I still had it. I still dream of that car! It would just eat up the Chevy 327s for lunch!!!!!

Love the '72 Rallye doors. Also totally loved the color combo on this '72. I recall seeing a '73 Dart Sport 340 car in this color combo with the partial vinyl roof in black and it was missing the stripe up over the roof as I recall in the mid 1980's. Man that color combo can really work on certain mopars. Just a fun summer in the 70's vibe to me.

That '73/'74 grille and headlight look, even the bumper guards, has really grown on me over the years. Just part of the unique looking cars from the 70's. One of the biggest negatives from '72 onward, has always been those side markers. The prior year had some of the best side markers ever used on any mopar bodies, IMO.

The '73 or '74 manual sunroof car I almost bought out of a wrecking yard, looked alot like this '74. Though a G code 318, and like a really light non metallic gold exterior and light gold interior with the sim. wood side interior panels, making the interior look killer.

I would not have believed this back in the day: Body wise, just speaking of the body, these are much more different than their 71 - 72 counterparts. Front wheel arches are 2" higher than before. The top rear corner of the doors are 2" lower than before. The lower body 'coke bottle' lines are also different. The perfect 3rd gen Charger would have been this body on the earlier chassis.

I sure wish I could strike it rich, I'd have yall to finish restoring my 68 Charger. I'd rather have someone that actually loves & appreciates these cars to finish mine. It's not a bad looking car but It needs to be off frame. Quarters was replaced but floors need to be replaced. I had a nice 69 charger & someone burned it early 2000's. I got photos, yeah It destroyed me at the time ! It was a very nice General Lee car my dad bought when I was a little kid & gave it to me. It was primared black when it got burnt. We was gonna do some body work & repaint it. It was all original 318 car. I ended up buying a 70 charger body a few yrs later off of ebay & drove from Alabama to North Virginia to haul it back. I put a 440 in it, did a little more work & sold it because I found a 68 charger with a 440. I bought the 68 which was a General Lee car & have now owned it since 2007. It's got a Dana 60 rear end & automatic. So chargers has been with me for most of my life thru good & bad. Maybe one day I will be able to have this 68 100% restored. The 69 is still my favorite though, I thought about converting it, idk.I like keeping cars original.I feel fortunate just to own a Charger.

22:54 I haven't seen a DOD vehicle decal like that since the early 2000s! We had to have them on every car so that when you went through the gate, that decal authorized that vehicle to be on that military installation. I grew up in the Air Force and my parents had to have them on every car. The first few years I was in the Air Force they were still used but were slowly being phased out. They eventually went to just checking all occupants ID cards, which was cheaper than having vehicle decals. It was also easier to secure an ID card than a decal. Too many issues with vehicle decals being stolen! Active Duty/Guard/Reserve/Civil Service had specific IDs while the dependents (13 and older) had dependent ID cards.

Mark would love this, Bernie Mac said it best in the 07 transformers movie. "Driver don't pick the car.. the car pick the driver." I've sat in a numbers matching 69 charger R/T SE and I genuinely felt like I fit in the car, the car didn't just fit me. I fit it.

Man, that '74 is so much like the one I almost bought. Other than the colors and G engine code on the one I let get away. On the fender tags, I recall even seeing up to 3 fender tags atleast twice way back in the day. When auto wrecking yards were loaded with 70's iron.

I HATE when Mark says after a total Restoration and they replace 3/4 of the sheet metal on the car(with Chinese pieces), he says the car is all original.... NO it's Not ! A "survivor" car is all original... and I won't call a car all original just because of the vin and matching motor/carb, trans and etc... Half the damn Graveyard restorations have very little of the original sheetmetal left... the Phantom Cuda is the best example.... nothing matches and 90% of the body metal and interior pieces were made in china !

Granted, there is a lot of time and labor costs involved.... but how much of the car ends up being original American Made from the factory ? Ahem, Excuse me- should we say American Restoration being "re-assembled" from Foreign made parts ?
