👍👍👍 for the KTM mechanics. They did a wonderfull job. I also have much appreciation for the companies that support you with usefull accessories for Basanti. Good mechanics are rare. I stopped having my bike serviced by a dealer: I went back to doing it myself. Except for the (tubeless) tires. You are now in South America, on your well deserved break. And most would never have attempted some of the muddy, broken roads Noraly has traversed. We won't even discuss the altitudes both she and the bike have operated in. In fact, maybe watching this video will give you a better appreciation for what she and the bike have endured: kzread.info/dash/bejne/gouJ1qaugrDZdZc.html The video is about 3 Australians, 2 Indians and 1 German motorcycling through some of the Himalaya mountains. And no, they don't do their own cooking either. Noraly is basically doing far more than the 5... er, make that 4... of them did. ( The German didn't make it. )

Hurschel Hardesty, if you decide on a Himalayan, be sure that the RE dealership is within pushing distance. My Himalayan died at 123 miles. Sputters and dies some more. The dealership I got it from is 250 miles away. The bike never would have made it home. I’m not going back to that dealership in Enfield Connecticut. They blame me for not getting “Roadside Assistance”. Why would I need that to get home on a brand new bike? They blame the gas, ( it’s their gas) So I’m screwed! out 5000 US dollars. So I’m inclined to bonfire it. Incinerate it and post the reason on KZread for 10 million potential RE Customers, really go buy a 1500$ Chinese bike. Not as well designed, but assembled better. Without kinked emissions lines, poor grounds under tank & what ever else keeps it from running.

It seems that you have found much better equipment for your bike fairly far into your trip (top-box, dry-park bag etc. That’s really good but it’s too bad that R-E didn’t set you up a little better when you first acquired the bike in Delhi. It seems that they are still working out how to become a global company - which is fair enough. I hope that the firm is watching carefully to learn from your experiences and thus, enhance their own products offerings. Anyhow - it appears that you will be in much better trim going forward.

AXO is an Italian manufacturer of motorcycle equipment that has been around for many years and has a good reputation. They are especially specialized in dirt bikes. Other than that, the Revit jacket you are wearing in this video is very pretty. I have a very similar summer Revit but anthracite in color. In addition I also have a winter jacket and pants and two pairs of Revit gloves. I love that brand

so impressed with your preparation - vitally important stuff for remote riding. I fit new cables for throttle and clutch and tape the old ones alongside the new ones so I know they fit properly, and ready for easy replacement.

That Enfield, Basanti seems pretty tough and is standing up well to the conditions, given the extended service intervals. Also the new phone holder looks to be a great improvement. Another great video. Thanks.
