    Hats are already sold out, but I’m digging the “life is short” tees; just picked one up. Dad just got a cancer diagnosis so it kinda hits close to home; I may or may not have even got a little emotional during the outro. I appreciate you guys; TNP has been a part of my life since probably 2008ish. From exposure to new guns, knives, and recently watches; to at least some part of my decision to enlist in the Marine Corps over a decade ago. I’m a proud patron, though it’s probably time I upgrade my membership. I don’t mean to gush; this video just hit me at a certain point in my life. Thank you guys, Nutn and Doodle and all the cast members who’ve come and gone. Here’s to another decade and more!

    You will need to stock a lot of cheap, but reliable guns in the deep preps. I call them Katrina guns. They have to be disposable; because gov will set up roadblocks in SHTF, like they did in Katrina, and take your guns. You will get no receipt, you won't ever get your confiscated guns back. When your guns are confiscated on the road, you go back home and grab another Katrina gun. The gov also went door to door with their Katrina confiscation efforts. So, cache some of your Katrina guns in hiding if this happens again. I've settled on SW FPC for my disposable Katrina car carbine. Use Underwood solid copper Platinum '+P' or '+P+' 68 grains or 90 grains. Nothing else compares to it for penetration.

  • @JohnB-dr8sk

    @JohnB-dr8sk

    4 ай бұрын

    Yeah, well, if you're buying your "Katrina" guns" from an FFL, it can and will be tracked. FFLs have to maintain the names, descriptions and serials numbers for all the guns they sell. If they close their doors and shut down their operation, they have to send all of that information to the FBI facility at Quantico. Most people don't realize that the 1968 Gun Control Act established a nationwide gun registry. Police and the Feds use this method all the time to track down gun owners who've had their guns stolen or used in a crime. That's why states that allow gun sales between private individuals or being able to build guns from un-serialed lowers has been so targeted by the Globalist Uniparty. It's the only way to still buy guns that can't be tracked. But most new gun buyers and even many long time gun owners have no idea just how easy their guns can be tracked through an FFL transfer.

    9mm is cheaper than .223 for plinking. I already have a TON of M&P 9mm mags. I'm also a fan of the magazine/ammo compatibility between handgun and carbine. Back in the 1800's, cowboys on horseback had carbines that used the same ammo as their revolvers. This is why my FPC has become my truck gun for camping and road trips. My travel combo is a 1st Gen M&P 9C for concealed carry and the FPC for a little more reach. I don't see any self-defense engagements at much more than 75 yards and with 124gr +P Speer Gold Dot, you still get adequate bullet expansion at 100 yards.

    😮Many don't realize even though just a pistol caliber, some loads have 357 ballistics from a 16" barrel which isn't quite as slouch in stopping power.

  • @JohnB-dr8sk

    @JohnB-dr8sk

    Great points. I think the reason Nutn feels the way he does about PCC's is that if things get really bad and you have to stop bad guys who are shooting at you from behind vehicles or wearing soft body armor, a 5.56 will penetrate steel and soft armor far better than any pistol caliber. 223/5.56 is also lighter to carry if you're on foot. A .223/5.56 also has much better stopping power than any pistol cartridge because of the damage high speed rifle rounds impart that even magnum handgun cartridges can't compete with. With all that said, a PCC still makes sense to me as you pointed out. With the right ammo, it has .357 Magnum stopping power and rounds like the Underwood Xtreme Defender really zip out of a PCC and should be able to penetrate vehicles and soft armor nearly as good a 223/5.56.

    So I have a FPC with the intention of have a 50yard and closer firearm. The problem I have with mine is there’s a significant point aim point of impact shift with it. It had the same shift with a primary arms red dot on it and a holosun red dot. From 10 yard to 25 yards there is a 7 inch shift! Have you had that problem with yours? I love the way it shoots but this is a huge issue.

  • @Roosterboy_00

    I would argue that PCCs fit in the home defense role very well. Ammo designed for short barrels, recoil nearly the same (maybe a little less when comparing to a shorter barrel AR and definitely a tad bit more when comparing to 16” plus AR), expanding hollow points to prevent over penetration if that’s a concern of yours, compact, light weight and ammunition is just as cheap and available. Most of the time optic mounting options are the same and the tests of 9mm in longer barrels shows less expansion but not a lot of people take into consideration that it reached max expansion and continued to peel or “mushroom“ tighter and it’s suppresses a lot better than 5.56/.223. As for SHTF, get an AR 5.56. Keep in mind your location, if you’re fighting out in the desert then run a Nutn setup but if you’re somewhere like I am, most engagements will be close quarters as will be most engagements in SHTF so I would go no more than 16” and 3x9s or 4.5x14s are out

    Well if you think about it, the S&W FPC 9mm, regarding projectile velocity at the muzzle, you’ll be getting 1400 fps which is producing the higher velocity over a 10mm out of a 5” barrel or even the Sig 357, the FPC firing an affordable 9×19mm Parabellum could match it regarding velocity.

    This is a follow-up to my comments of 4 months ago. So, I just bought an FPC yesterday. I don't have any S&W 9MM pistols to share mags with this carbine. Why did I buy it? Largely because I saw it at a local big box store in their "used" collection for a price far below what they're currently bringing retail, making it an attractive purchase to see if I like it or not. To put it in perspective, I spent about the same amount as I did on my Gen 2 Sub2K after adding a Red Lion handguard so that I could add better sights and optic and still fold the Sub2K. Currently, it's waiting a front iron sight so that I can sight it in. I may put a dot sight on it but may not if the fixed iron sights prove useful enough; that way I can fold it up and forget it wherever I wind up putting it.I am in wholehearted agreement about the magazine spacers - but the application of some Loctite (R) brand plastic adhesive may prove effective in dealing with the issue of drifting spacers. I applied that fix tonight and we'll see how it holds up. Given the wide open spaces here in northern Nevada, my prior opinion on philosophy of use for PCCs still applies and I don't expect to have a serious use for this carbine. However I think it will at least turn out to be a fun range toy and might even not dump ejected cases on me like the Sub2K did before I added a Kydex deflector (yes, I'm left handed). If nothing else, if the party starts and you haven't brought your own party favor you might find yourself issued the FPC.

Out of three there’s only one that I’ll carry or use on a regular basis, the Canik Mete 9 in black, due to the compact size. I’ll just keep my Stribog, I changed the lower to run CZ mags/magpul/ets/psa/manticore 30+ mags and ar-15 trigger and grip. Extremely accurate for vehicle gun in a major city, with a small chest rig.

    Definitely not gonna get rid of what I currently have for one. A PCC is more of a range toy for me. For any serious work a 5.56 or AR10 variation if weight permits would be my first choice. But theres always room for more lol. Thanks for the review Nutn!

    Exactly 9mm is good for rol and to conceal but a 10.5 556 is still better than any 9mm carbine.

    Just sold my sub 2k a few days ago to get ready and have the extra dollars to get the new sub 2k when it becomes available, in my book the sub 2k is hands down the best pcc, i have had like 5 of them over the years now from the first gen 1 I got some time ago now.

    I have quite a few Glock and m&p mags and a gen2 keltec sub2000 g19 mag fed. I would never swap to an m&p platform. $40 for 15/17 rd mags with the only aftermarket mags being promag which are about half that but they are also about half the reliability in my experience. I’ll stick with my keltec and Glock mags. Although I carry an m&p 2.0 9mm daily.

    Don’t fully agree on the WROL assessment. 5.56, absolutely, 9mm pistol, no brainer, but if you’re foraging, scrounging, trading for ammo, you’ll take what’s available and I’d like a rifle length 9mm if 5.56 becomes scarce. It simply easier to shoot more accurately than a pistol. Of course 9mm might become scarce too but between the two I think you’ll be able to find some of one.

    45 ACP is the ultimate sub gun cartridge. All of the standard off the shelf ammo is both full power AND subsonic. You can get boutique or handload 45 acp to top power 10mm levels (185 gr @ 1300 fps) and as NUTN said the vast majority of 10mm ammo is at 40slow and weak power, I’ve tested over 2 dozen and it’s true. You can also train with the same power loads and bullet weight you use for defense so there aren’t any training scars from using neutered practice ammo. Standard 45 acp rounds out of a sub gun are lethal at least 50 yards further than 9mm tho there is more drop which can be accounted for. I hit 8” plates standing at 100 yards all day no problem with a dead on hold zeroed at 25 yards with my B&T using an RMR sight and can easily hit 12” plates at 200 with 350 lb ft energy.

    Hey Nutn, I’m surprised you didn’t give the FPC way more negatives, esp based on SAWC. The FPC needs to be 1+ lbs lighter and overall smaller footprint in order to compete with the (IMO) better Sub2k Gen3. And I’m sticking with my Glock mags

    Long time follower and Patreon. I'm sorry, I'll use a sidearm to fight to my rifle. Anyone who thinks they need a PCC is Larping....Change my mind. Now anyone who is observant knows why PCCs are so popular. AR's are not selling. The industry as a whole is recovering. They have done well in their restocking efforts and guess what. They have created a bunch of inventory lowering the price on a lot of things. A buyers market, Good for us! Now Ammo is being treated like Oil. Those companies are public and are being traded. Ammo is a commodity item it seems. If someone said I'll buy you a PCC... i would ask for Ruger or CMMG. Looking forward to your review on the TNW.

    Had to let my 16” scorpion carbine go sucks so bad. With that said I based it on the actual power of the weapon. I was forced to choose between a few different of my favorites. It boiled down to the Scorpion I didn’t want to but in today’s world I would never choose a actual rifle. The scorpion was always just a fun plinker to me
