As I look where the hose is supposed to go off the filters I can suggest to folks something I do to every new fuel tank I get my hands on is I order the drain cock Dorman sells not that I am at all fond of Dorman products anymore the drain cock really helps out when removing the tank again which becomes inevitable with the amount of rust these trucks get makes it much nicer to connect a hose and just drain it all out.

Why don't I ever get to work on vehicles that clean????

My 01 Powerstroke 7.3 crew cab, 8' bed, dually has a 71 gallon tank. I nick named it "The Coffin". Goes down under just like your tank.

Where did you get it, out of curiosity? I can't seem to find any larger tanks for long bed trucks.

@@luigifabio77 the truck was a factory built custom truck, but it was built by Fontaine manufacturing and they produced a fuel tank also. It was a Yacht Hauler, so I needed a large amount of fuel to drive around the country.

@@luigifabio77 I'm actually removing it because it developed a few pin holes where the straps wrap around it and they didn't put rubber between the steel tank and straps. I'm too lazy to weld it back up so i am just installing the factory 38 gallon tank i believe it is.

@@DumbCarGuy understood. Yes, 38 gallons nominal capacity. With mods and/or care you can fill it more. I have a long bed regular cab and there seem to be *no* alternatives to the factory tank, even though most tanks (including the one in the pictures) take up space behind the stock tank (and sometimes above/below)... for obvious reasons.

Is there any way on a 2006 f250 to recalibrate factory tank size to the s and b 60 gal tank in the truck ecm to correct distance to e and fuel mpg calculations?

I would LOVE for someone to explain WHY I need to have the SHORTER TRUCK to fit MORE FUEL. I have an 8 foot bed I'm really stuck with a smaller tank??

I’m guessing I could still put this on a 5.4 v8 gasser?

How do I calibrate the cluster to tell the computer it’s a 60 gallon tank for DTE, 2008-2010. Ezlink only works 2011 and up . Thanks in advance
