You guy's are by far the hardest on your machines than any other out there. Love josh's turbo S thing just takes a pounding.
I just went through the same thing, changed my fluid just before it happened and saw a little more stuff on my plug than usual. Thankfully my extended warranty covered a new transmission (covered driveshaft (which is a big deal on a 4 seater) and rear axles). But same as you guys, let go at 40 or so mph on dirt road, but I was in 2wd. I was running 32" xtr370s and had 3800 miles on it when it went. I m now rolling on 33" itp versa cross and I m loving the smoothness of them... love your videos, hit me up if you ever want to ride MN.. nothing crazy here though...
Stripped snorkels usually starts with high load situation in reverse since they’re cut for forward. I believe that’s a 19t if it’s a turbo driveline. 13t on the xp1000. Good call on a full new trans. Been there done that a couple times.
Thank you for sharing Miss Mia is keeping the menfolk on track, which is necessary ✌️♥️ 🤗🙏🏆
I found that the 6 bolt retainer plate in the transmission for the final drive flex’s under high torque loads. I upgraded to the rock ready HD plate. Also check the ring & pinion deflection mine wasn’t very good from factory.
Very good info thanks
I'm getting ready to send my trans out for a rebuild and I know the standard upgrades are the snorkel and pinion gear, retainer plate, bearings.
Good stuff gents!
I had the idler shaft bearing explode on my turbo s, did the sand craft bearing up grade. id recommend doing the same while its all apart.
Nice beat on the soundtrack.
I’ve been racing bounty holes on my pro xp with 8” boxes and 46s, running rhino 2.0s and have had great luck knock on wood so I’m sure the x300’s will be sweet
Get with Jay. He’s seen mine in this shape a couple times before I let him do it for me. No issues since. I feel your pain though
have you guys thought about using portals, i love mine, and it takes a load off of the axles and diffs
Send the diff to Coffman and have the hill killer setup done. Seems to be a solid setup from what I've read on it.
Noticed the red wheels in the background. Is the Talon getting new wheels?
I’ve been happy with my rhino drive shaft and axles. Even on 35s. I had the same theory you guys do. It would be different if it was a buy once cry once. But they constantly need rebuilt costing more than new super atv axles and drive shafts. We break a 2.0 here and there but customer service has been 10 times what rcv is.
Always always something.... check that out!
just a heads up, I did the whole bolt in the driveshaft thing on my Polaris sportsman when I upgraded my pinion plate and ended up ruining the pinion bearing and seal. it never fully keeps the shaft tight on the splines and the little bit of wobble even with a lock nut and tightening the bolt down fully, ruined the diff bearing and seal. roll pin is a shitty design but unfortunately seems to work on these Polaris machines
FYI, you don't need to run a roll pin or bolt at the front diff. Lot's of desert race guys leave that bolt out and it actually lessens drive line vibrations. I've been running without a roll pin or bolt for 2 years and never had a problem. There's no movement with this design so it's not necessary.
Next time you ride for a few miles put your hand on the front diff and see how hot it is. 3 of us burnt our front differentials up by running spools. The difference in ratio front to back builds a tremendous amount of heat. That's why they overflow the fluid. It will also build a lot of heat in the transmission. When you have a regular front differential it's not in 4 wheel drive until the rear tires slip. That causes the rollers to pop out and engage the roller carrier in the front differential. Hillard design.
Where's Billy at he's the turbo s trans master

@@andrewberkley846 Hey I’m just not sure, sxs action maybe? Not sure anymore, just randomly came across a vid that just came out that I seen him riding in.
Have you all tried portals for gear reduction?
Why don’t y’all try the Joe Coffman diff ?
"I've never broke one" boy you spoke to soon lol
I'm curious why you don't run stock axles? I know they are expensive and weaker than the aftermarket so just curious because you've said a few times in the video how you'd much rather just break an axle than a trans or diff.
The snorkel gear failing is very common on the polaris. The gear shifter would have nothing to do with that failure. I see a lot of those in the shop and it seems to be set to loose against the pinion from the factory, probably fatigued the gear over all the hard trips. We tighten every snorkel gear when we rebuild a transmission after seeing the trend in failures.

What trans oil do you use?
@keltonshannon598
Жыл бұрын
Maxxis sxs gear oil. Can’t remember off the top of my head but think it’s a 75w90
Would like to go to 35 zillas in my Turbo S. You recommend gear reduction?
This is now the 3rd person iv heard having a catastrophic failure with a full spool just cruising. This is the first trans failure, but i know 2 others that the diff exploded. Stickies combined with The asphalt traction. I run a mini-spool and i run in 2wd on the road with no problem, but definitely believe the full spool would be an issue. No slip in anything
So did Josh make the switch to a 1/2 ton gasser after the towing video? I can only assume the blue F150 is his. If so, does that mean you guys are scratching the idea of hauling all 4 rigs on the new trailer, other than with Billy's diesel?
I think that's what happened to mine same thing I was doing 30 mph and made noise I'm going to drain the fluid today and see if I get any metal shavings I thought it was the carrier bearing but I don't think it is now I'm thinking that happened in the same thing what happened to yours I don't run big tires I just do trail riding and drag racing but I think drag racing it probably did it
I know from experience better off going with a different driveshaft. I could never keep my bolts tight on mine and I swear it took out my front diff cause there was only one tight and 3 missing lol
How many hours/miles was on your machine when the trans blew? Great vid!! I have a 2020 TurboS and hope not avoid this carnage......
Why not just get the Coffman diff mines been great
On neutral push the vehicle by yourself,if you cant then is binding .if it rolls then your ok.
I got a question about the trail grapplers how can you tell if they’re a sticky im trying to buy a set but no descriptions assure you about a competition compound
@BlownBudgetOffroad

They all are the same compound as the tire developed for king of the hammers in the full size rigs

@@BlownBudgetOffroad thanks for the help!!! You guys should hit up Blue Holler one of these days would like to see that video👍🏼
👍👍
Just use.. blue lock tight.. then apply some heat to back them out.. least I’ve had good luck that way..
I also swapped out my less than a year old rcv drive shaft for a Super ATV rhino. Let yall guess why.
Buy a 5th axle so you dont have to change it back when its warrantied!
Bull gear , snorkel gear. Shaft 30 min fix. Maybe half case. And with all the RCV parts. The snorkel gear was the weakest link .
Satv carrier will cause it to vibrate 100% never had any luck with them on any machine from rzrs to generals.
@Jason____

I was going to comment the same thing. The SATV billet carrier gave me a horrible vibration with a stock driveshaft. Not sure if the phased/balanced Rhino driveshaft is any better, but the stock driveshaft and their carrier was horrible.
Ready to roll on Josh...Bye Bye
did josh get rid of the 6.7?
I don't think that will buff out.
1/2 of its on the drain plug 😬
Your spool being solid lock with incorrect gear ratio and having loose bolts in the prop shaft will definitely chew that gear up. Going back the other direction will save you money, the weak link will be a half shaft or prop shaft instead of a gear set.
Those superjunk axles aren’t any stronger than the Rhino 2.0’s… just a stronger shaft, same CV joints. Better carry some spares
Don’t waste your money on demons either. Pure junk and worst customer support ever. I ran the demon extremes on my x3. With a welder diff and swapped to rhinos after I broke em both and can’t get them warrantied
are you in winrock lmao
No more Polaris
You cant really say your surprised its a polaris thats what they do and they are the best it.
I know what’s wrong with it… it ain’t got no gas in it
