This week we finally tackle the gear reduction on Dude's 2021 Rzr Pro Xp. This combo has a few different names, in the video we call it the 53%/12%/12% reduction. Some people do the math and get a different number, end of the day its somewhere in the neighborhood of a 50% drop. We're not here to do math though, we just want a low gear that is actually low. While we were in there, we added a Sandcraft pinion retaining plate and a Cryoheat high speed shim for added insurance. This video is pretty much a full install. We will have an abbreviated version of a gear reduction video coming in the future when we do the same reduction on Jeremy's 2020 Rzr Pro Xp sport.

20 years in the transmission industry i have to say that it hurts to watch you guys take off the snap rings. I just know that 20 years ago i was the same way.

Yeah it was rough! We did another gear reduction a few weeks later and it went a lot smoother. I bought better pliers and it made a huge difference.
best video ive seen yet, good for you two! This is how most of everyone is going to be preforming this type of modification. in their home with an old cutting table and two guys that say "fuck it! Lets do it!"

Ugh. I followed all your guidance and recommendations, but you said nothing about needing the AA alignment tool. Am at the rebuild phase and just paid for expedited shipping. Definitely do appreciate all the tips you did provide! Hope this comment helps others.

Dude attempted to buy the tool but they sent the wrong one. We did some research and talked to a guy that does gear reductions all the time and he said it’s not necessary. All the bolts align the motor and trans. On the non-turbo machines it’s absolutely necessary from my understanding. Ultimately we did both gear reductions with no alignment tool and had no issues

@@SomewhatHaggard OK, thanks man, I'll move forward to close this up, and fall back to the tool if needed.

No problem, we wanted to double check as well but when they sent the wrong one we started looking into it more. It’s probably the safest way to do it, just to be sure.
Cracked up when you patted the piece of bread 🤣

What lift do you have it up on? That would make life much easier than wood blocks and jack stands.

I plan on going over what we think once we use it in some real terrain, we’ll be in Tackett creek beginning of April so I’ll be sure to address it then. It’s not on the channel yet, but since this video we did it on the other pro xp on the channel as well.
Boring af but watched every minute good info man

Haha thanks!! I know it’s not the most exciting subject. I wanted to try and cover everything, I know there’s some people that may not know where to start on a project like this.
Where did u the gr and how much was it?

I don’t remember where Dude got his set up. I got the same gears as him from partzilla and I got the high speed shim and pinion retainer plate from xit off road. I think all of the parts were around $560.

Yeah it’s a special talent of his lol. Even when he does speak it’s soft. He says stuff and it doesn’t even show a waveform while editing lol.
