This man is one of my idols
Inspectah Decks bars in triumph blew me away the first time I heard it. Loved pumping it in my competition car sound systems in my mk 1 and mk 2 golf gtis in mid (mid 90s obviously early 36 Chambers), to late 90s. and still love pumping it in my 35th car today. I'm a 51yr old Disabled British Army Veteran. Hip hop mad since pre 79 rappers delight Rap battles with Dj Kool Herc, Funky Four plus one, Furious Five. Plus other old old school early to mid 80s groups, like Bambataa, Parliament, kool Moe Dee, Early Run Dmc. But growing up as a teen. My era is 85 to 98. Esp boom bap era. Which I lived Afro and RA Rugged Man Gift of the Gab (RIP) revamping with their tunes. My fav all time group is actually a joint first place. Ultramagnetic MCs & Wu Tang Clan. The rest of golden era are fully joint 2nd. As can't think of many bad groups. Wu Tang 4 ever my bro and sisters.
Triump is absolutely the best song from Wu Tang
always a gift to to hear the God drop science.
I was wondering what that certain change in the strings was…it was the change in octave and amplitude. It’s sounds like an entirely different note. That’s crazy!
2 classic fukin tracks that take me back to middle and high school

The RZA: One of my favorite Producers and MC's
One of the sounds he's talking about that nobody seems to mention is ODB in the background singing. Once you hear it you can't unhear it
Rza. He's your favorite producer's favorite producer.
Love how the sound quality of Wu Tang Forever was cleaner than 36 Chambers Quality yet carried over that gritty hardcore vibe and energy from 36 Chambers with that sharp sound in tact as far as base hits along with other elements within drum loops high hats, snare hits, sound fxs etc. Not to mention great ear when it comes to sampling r&b/soul tracks from prior decades 60s & 70s and transmuting the octaves to higher pitches. While many mention that album lacked hooks I would say there were enough tracks if not than more than enough on that album with hooks. I could go through and list but will name a few like The Projects, As High As Wu Tang Gets, It's Yours, The City, Little Ghetto Boys?? (A track with a hook that let the sample tell it which several artists like Kanye did -Through The Wire ex.-), A better Tomorrow & Reunited yes Reunited simple hook beautifully sung yet so dope. Perhaps Wu Tang Forever Double LP wasn't radio friendly other than the track It's Yours but it didn't have to be. Perhaps it could've garnered more single hits but the album sky rocketed to success through the Triumph video alone which was all it really took to promote that album which no other group or artist has done with just a music video. Yeah it got radio play but in all honesty it didn't spin throughout the day like that on radio stations and if it did the longevity of that track or any other track from that album didn't stretch that far but they were relevant as hell in the rap game until the end of the 90s decade despite being blackballed from radio for nearly 10 years which in hindsight seeing how I wasn't even aware of that Hot 97 BS living upstate NY eventually living in North Carolina during the time. Just thought it was all just disputes over production not being the same and lacking that original hard and raw vibe that Rza and Wu Tang production team stuck with and built on throughout the 90s when they were red hot in the rap game. To think they had such an impact and I kept my hopes up for them to release another raw and hard hitting official group album after The W album which grew on me when I got it back in 2000 after a week or two listening to it. Cappadonna's 2nd solo the Ying And The Yang gave me doubts seeing how mainstream orientated it was aside from a track or two with featured relevant artists that were pushing that watered down club hit trend that hip hop/rap had switched to which in hindsight and even then somewhat respected from Cappadonna from a solo artist's perspective and wanting to experiment which listening back could def sense the overall vibe that he was definitely bringing that energy of enjoyment and really into it. Not many knew that Donna had a lot of love from many artists in the rap game outside the group kind of or almost like Method Man but not to that extreme but damn well enough. None the less the Iron Flag was ok I guess but really more watered down version of Wu Tang Clan just mainstream while trying to keep that golden era vibe to an extent. Could just tell the dynamics lacked which made sense in The Mics Of Men doc. Could def tell the energy wasn't the same just listening to the album itself. I also remember finding behind the scenes footage of Rza in the studio as well as some of the clan working on their album. While Rza was just giving a little tease playing a beat for I believe MTV filming at the time from the Iron Flag album and while Rza was working with it Method Man looked dead at the camera lens and you can see him shaking his head and deliberately rolling his eyes while Rza was giving and it was actually one of the better beats from the album. Forget who else was their but at the same time the other weren't as expressive through gestures of any kind but more so as if they didn't wanna be there and def not feeling it at all as well. All that while Rza being the only one vibin and genuinely into the demonstrating of his craft. That's when I knew to me it was gonna take a miracle for them to be on board as a unit which def brought my doubts up very high and this has nothing to do with their solo efforts which many I def believe compensated for their lack group wise some keeping that Wu sound like Masta Killer (I believe him especially on most of his solo albums) and still am enjoying there new releases til this day and beyond as they all or majority continue releasing new tracks and doing great collabs other great artists. Wu Tang Forever and beyond and is Forever Now 👐
wish he did this for more songs
Mad love to RZA that's why him and Preemo are my top 2 favorite producers.
