I love how Emilia woke up desperate and crying, but this time when she saw Subaru suffering, she overcame that to comfort him like Subaru has been doing in the previous loops.

I think there's something ironic in the fact that Garfiel is 100x tougher than Subaru is, but yet when Subaru says "I've seen hell" and Garfiel sees the look in his eye, he believes him and it scares him shitless.

It’s like the sword demon. He’s seen death, so he can see that in Subaru. Therefore Garf can recognize hell in Subaru’s eyes since he’s seen it too.

Garfiel is definitely a lot physically stronger than Subaru is, but I'd say Subaru is a good deal mentally tougher than Garfiel at this point. Garfiel has never really confronted his fears and forced his way through them the way Subaru has, and I think that's part of why Subaru can intimidate him.
