Ryuichi Sakamoto & Thomas Dolby - Field Work (Long London version)
Музыка
Here is a higher sound-quality version of this track.
This is my fave version of the tune, taken from the CD I bought of it from back in yonder 80s (not vinyl, as the pic suggests).

Guys, what happens when two Gods of Synth-Pop meet? THIS. I LOVE this song & this is my favorite version.
Discovering this with 15 on German Radio, recording on Cassette, never knew the Name of Singer (i only remember he was from Japan) and after 38 Years finally found it!
I chanced upon the 12-inch while in a department store in Kobe in the summer of 1985. Initially, I preferred Sakamoto's relatively dry mix (TYO). And the b-side (a snippet of which appears in the music video), is still brilliant.
Invokes feelings of nostalgia, even though I haven't heard it until now. Sounds like a vintage arcade game. Absolutely love Thomas's work.

What i have absorbed is that 80s JP videogame music was highly influenced by Sakamoto and Hosono.

I saw two of my favorite artists together, and KNEW this would be worth a listen or 100!
Spent the early 80s on college radio, knew of Takahashi's solo work and with YMO, but never heard of this collaboration until 2023. Thank you for this 👍
I'm just discovering Sakamoto more in deep, quite impressed of all that i'm founding

Same dude, Sakamoto seems to be hugely unappreciated for an artist who’s been producing amazing music for so long.

聴くと初めて聴いた時の事を思い出す。今でも好きな曲です。
I knew of YMO & Mr Dolby for a long time and then Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence came out. That movie is a "must see" in that it shows not only how great a composer Mr Sakamoto is, but how well he can act as well! I haven't been diligent in keeping up with Mr Sakamoto's career but I still wonder if he made any more movie or albums.
Menuda colaboración les salió a éstos dos genios de la música!!!!. Absolutamente genial!!!.
Just love this, sounds like it´s been released today!!

Don't think so... strangely, according to "whosampled" this song has not been sampled by anyone! I'm sure it has been, but nothing well known apparently. That intro sounds like a lot of more contemporary songs for sure.
