Got mine a few days ago. Great purchase. He's right, it does need a lanyard or a carrying handle similar to what is on the Ryobi bug zapper. I've been using mine with a 2ah battery and at full blast it will easily last a work day, probably two. It sounds GREAT. It's not going to blow your hair back with volume but, the sound is quality. For how tiny the speaker is, you would expect it to sound like a soup can on a string. I paired mine to my 55" TV all day yesterday and think this sounds better than my TV speakers, just not as loud. I had my TV speakers muted and diverted all sound to the Ryobi so I could get a more accurate opinion of the sound quality. I got this specifically for my car because my old Buick doesn't have bluetooth. Loud enough for everyone to hear in a full size sedan at 70 MPH. It would probably last a week on a 6ah battery. However, I would not recommend for a loud jobsite. If you are on the fence about this purchase, jump off it. I am immediately looking to upgrade to the big one. Cheers, and thanks for posting this video. Great review.

Update: Even my 20 y.o. NiCad battery lasted 6 hrs before quitting. It shuts itself off after a few minutes of no sound to preserve battery.

Bring back the RYOBI Hybrid Score as they missed the mark with the Verse ... The P742 at least has a Radio USB port and aux inputs, this unit is very limited in features and performance, even for the price.

I have one of these. There is no speaker driver on the back, it is a port. Sound quality is adequate for listening to podcasts, and perhaps background music for a non music critic. The runtime it's much less than it should be on any capacity battery, given the fact that it's just a little speaker with not alot of bass. The amplifier is very inefficient , and you can place your hand on top and feel warmth. On a speaker and amplifier of this size you should not be feeling Heat . Heat is wasted energy which means inefficiency and lower run times than should be. The verse plays much louder than this, and has better sound quality, but they completely missed the mark on the verse because its claim to fame is being able to link with each either, but the indoor range is only 10% of their advertised 250 ft! 30 ft, tops. I cannot put my phone in the middle of my 60 ft wide house, put the primary speaker 30ft in One Direction and the secondary speaker 30ft in the other direction and Link, because the primary and secondary won't reach the 60 feet, when they advertise 150ft for the link. Absolutely pointless to have more than one verse. The verse is okay if you want to have one nearby you, but more than one is pointless. I know this video is not about the verse, but now I appreciate my humble little Ryobi brick speaker in this review even more!

If the Bluetooth doesn't have a pairing lock thennits garbage on a site because everyone will be able to pair with it without ur knowledge of knowing who so u qont be listening to ur own music/podcast.
