This is a video about how to re-spool or re-line a Ryobi 18V One grass trimmer.
The line is 0.65mm thick, and for this video, I used a (newer?) type of 'threaded' line, which I think should be more durable.

Lmaoooo!!! Seriously. Been sitting here just staring at it for at least an hour. The key here was that hole in the bottom...which you never see in the pre-spooled assembly. This makes my life so much easier. THANK YOU!

People like you, who take their time to make how-to videos for those of us that are mechanically impaired, ROCK. I see you have a couple hundred comments, but I'd bet you've informed thousands of others like me. Not only did I learn how to change the string spool, I also found out you could simply refill the empty ones! No, I did not know that. You probably think that's crazy but I'm not the only one. Anyway, your video couldn't have been any more clear (even for me) or explained any better. Thanks so much for your super informative instructions. ROCK ON!

I bought my Ryobi electric weed whacker at LEAST 10 years ago. Ive never had a problem with it. The string feed works like a champ. I was a bit dubious buying electric but admittedly at least for a weed whacker around the home it really is the way to go.

I didn't realize the weed whacker line is automatically cut when it is stopped. I was moving from weed to weed in my driveway and stopping the machine when I moved on to each new weed. Apparently the string was cut at each weed! I couldn't figure out why the string was running out so fast. Your comment at the end about how the string gets cut really helped. Thanks so much!

For the last 18 months I've not let the lawn crew edge or use a weed eater in my back yard. kzread.infoUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG I didn't like the fact that they just kept cutting the edge of the lawn further and further from the rock lining the flower beds and leaving bare ground. And the grass was trimmed or scalped several feet around trees, etc. It was a constant battle with them so I told them to just mow and no trimming. I have Zoysia grass so it grows pretty slow. Obviously after a while it could use some trimming. I'm in my 80's so I can't do much of it myself. Finally I decided that if I could find a lightweight battery powered trimmer I might be able to do some light trimming. I decided to buy the LST201 20V trimmer. And it works great for my needs. I have back yard with about 150' of flower beds and several trees to be trimmed. I can lightly trim the whole yard with a single charge! The grass I trimmed was only a few inches high but the trimmer was more powerful than I expected.
