Ryobi BS904 / BS904G Bandsaw Motor No Start Humming ~ Diagnosis / Teardown / Rebuild / Replacement

Ғылым және технология

In this video we go thru the steps to diagnose an electric induction motor not starting, having just a hum or humming noise on power up. The tool illustrated is a Ryobi BS904G benchtop bandsaw, but this video applies to the Ryobi BS904 bandsaw also.
We inadvertently do a teardown and reassembly on the single phase in-series permanent capacitor type induction motor used for your viewing pleasure, though it is not typically serviceable or repairable. Testing and replacement of the starting type 20uF capacitor is also shown.
