    My daughter met her husband online and now lives in Adelaide. She grew up in the US. Love how everyone there has fences. When my son-in-law came here to visit he couldn't believe how many houses in the US have no fences. Love the accent. Thanks for the great video.

    Thanks, this will be perfect for me. I don't need a lot of power, I just have a tiny yard and my edges look pretty good. Being lightweight and not dealing with mixing gas/oil or coping with a cord is worth a lot to me. I have fescue in my yard too, bluegrass is more common here in the US midwest, but it is even less drought tolerant, so I made the switch.

    First time I used it I thought it was trash, my mum bought one for herself, as previously the First 45min of edging was dedicated to starting up the petrol whipper snipper, there was also a 30min struggle with the petrol mower too but she got a battery one that was to my surprise very good.I hadn't used one of these before and it really kicked wasn't sure I was going about it the right way n didn't have the confidence on the throttle to just squeeze it and as it was new didn't want to fk it. she had buyers remorse at the start and was going to bite the bullet and just get a whipper snipper (battery this time) and put this "contraption" in the far courner of the garage. Thanks to the video i had a plan of attack, I did the first 5 or 6 times and now it's easy n she's wrapped with it. Only downside like u said was the weight but after the initial edge has been cut its easier to let the wheels take the weight without having a panic attack. But yes the smaller battery is fine once the line has been drawn. Thanks again!!

    Only recently discovered your channel due to buying this edger. Do you edge first and then mow ? Or do you mow first and then edge ? Cheers love the content.

    Thanks for the kind comment Scott! We generally edge first, then mow. Tidier this way, as the mower will pick up any clippings and clean up the edge nicely.

    Nice review for a great tool. I don't get a clean edge with my weed wacker and considering this. How will it work if I have a 25mm wooden edge between my lawn and a plant area ? Will the small wheel at the front rest on the 25mm wooden edge ? Seems the bigger rear wheel will run on the grass. Thanks mate.

  • @OmniGarage

    @OmniGarage

    2 жыл бұрын

    The rare wheel is ~35 mm. The width of the wooden edge might be enough for you to use as an edge to drive the machine across. I guess you would have to try and see. Alternatively you could flip the machine around and “free hand” the edge without using the wheel on a hard surface to guide you.

    What are your thoughts on purchasing just a line trimmer to do the edges? Is there much of a benefit of getting a separate edger?

  • @OmniGarage

    @OmniGarage

    2 жыл бұрын

    You can get away with using a line trimmer. But you run the risk of taking chunks out of your lawn and having a uneven edge. This happened to me multiple times….hence I brought the edger.

    It will take a few goes to carve out a nice groove, between the concrete and the grass. Once you have that, it is easy to keep the edge maintained.

    Hello, is there some type of guide to stop it from accidentally cutting into the concrete and breaking the blade? I want to buy it but scared I might do this by accident

  • @OmniGarage

    @OmniGarage

    6 ай бұрын

    No guide. Use with common sense. If the blade is parallel to the concrete then there is no issue (this is the correct way to use it). If you go perpendicular (incorrect way) then yes is it can create a cut in the concrete. We get this comment sooooo often! Read some of the other comments with my answers attached. I have had mine for 7 years….replaced the blade once (we have a video on that) and I still have a concrete driveway and path intact.

    Is the center mounting hole of the blade 1 inch in diameter? If so I will be able to mount many generic blades to it and it will be much cheaper _ about one 3rd of the cost to replace the blades. I also think that the blade length is about 8 inches. Good Job Fellas. Cheers once again from Brisbane Australia.

    Great review, thank you. I think I'm done trying to keep up maintenance on my 25+ year old gas edger. I have several 18v Ryobi tools and batteries, so this would be a good fit. However, I have an 80v Kobalt blower, and plan for their trimmer. so I may go with the Kobalt 80v edger. Either way, this video gives me confidence that cordless is the way to go.

    Is there a guide on the edger that keeps it straight along the edge of the sidewalk? Or do you just keep the wheel on a straight line by watching it.

  • @OmniGarage

    You keep the wheel on the edge, and the blade will then slip into the gap between the concrete and the grass. It’s easy to manage and get a straight cut!
