My favorite preformance of this song. The solo guitar playing is so pleasing, and the tone on Ryan's guitar sounds amazing. A+

Ryan Adams always tried to be Westerberg yet always fell short. Mike Viola (lead player) is the better songwriter in my opinion.

kinda think its funny the comments below as to the drummer missing up which by the way is barely noticeable and adds to the charm of live performance AND NO KNOW DOES LIVE LIKE RYAN, he and his band are great, one of the few current artist who can really pull off great live shows, RATW is correct as well Ryan is a very loose undisciplined player and his band all know that, its ART

He is :). I think so too, Ryan seems to really enjoy the company of the Shining. They all seem like pretty mellow down to earth dudes like Ryan himself (at this point of his life at least.)

Mike Viola is a fantastic musician...guitar player....

I saw Ryan and the shinning twice in London last year and the drummer was brilliant at both gigs. Although in the second gig they all sounded better together the 2nd time!

Cant believe this was 7 yrs ago ALREADY - feels like 6 months ago

I love his Weyland and OCP patches. Good films.

It's hard to tell who is responsible for the small hiccup but honestly we're talking a few seconds lol. It really doesn't mean a thing considering how amazing the overall performance is. I agree that this is one of the best performances of 'Kim' that they've done.

To be fair, it's not the drummer. Ryan - unusually - jumps the gun but the drummer first hit comes in as if he didn't, and he then adjusts realising he's now behind.

Agree with RATW, i think the drummer would've been better off sticking to the count. He tried to save Ryan but made it sound worse. Ryan came in with 'kim' too soon. The drummer was REALLY close to the count though, so more on DRA than the drummer, in my amateur opinion...

The blip sounds cool, who cares? At the start of born to run on record the drummer goes off around the 5 second mark and it sounds fucking ace

it really is ryan. Drummer's counting on his leg all the time, and then the guitar comes in a tad late, trying to compensate and subsequently missinge the 2

The hiccup was on Ry. Unusual for him. The drummer tries to pick up and cover it, hence the drums sounding off.

Yeah, Ryan's meter is all over the place. You can see Freddie tapping out triplets on his leg trying to figure out which of the tempos he is going to come in at then Ry jumps in early with the guitar to boot.

I rather have a little miss beat to remind my that rock stars also mess up and that I'm not watching a Fake performance.. But that's just me there's a lot of perfect people out there now days..

It's ok. But I think you mean Little "Mister" Perfect who reminds you.... (Andrew Gallagher) Unless you are the type of misogynist who thinks men should be insulted by being called a woman. Also, Andrew is correct. The drummer isn't just late; he's off for so long and so often, it's unsettling.

Rather a mistake than being perfect and hearing a machine! There is a whole song here by the way in case you missed it!

To be fair Ryan started a bit early with "kim" before the drum part and confused him... And I loved it anyway; people really like to argue over stupid things.

To me what he is doing ‘is’ mastering the neck... I know what your saying though (I’m not saying it disrespectfully)... I’ve never been impressed with ‘shredders’... to me how RA plays & sings is craftsmanship!

I think you mean Ryan. Count along with his meter before Freddie comes in, it's all over the place and since he starts the song it's his to screw up. Great song regardless and at least they weren't playing to tracks.

This band never did it for me. Never seemed to gel in the way the cardinals did.

Alan Howell I agree. The cardinals were something else. When I saw them live it seems like they do all Ryan’s old songs up tempo and it never really felt right.

Dunno, I like the guitarist and keyboardist. they seem to fit this phase of Ryan's career well.

No one's off really, if anything its a fraction of a beat, like way back in the pocket, I think it feels more off because the first hit wasn't with more confidence. That's a little bit of a tricky timed sequence anyways.
