Truly a master at his work. Well done.
very very professional , perfect and satisfying kris ... thanks
new sub, first and foremost your channel is so satisfying to watch. You are a master at this and all your machines are so cool. Second I just bought a little bracket to prevent gpu sag lol
There's nothing more satisfied more than watching your videos loveing the content
Good evening. Great job and professional as usual. Shooting of rework station working on memory chips is simply ... amazing! Regards from Italy.

I don't know a more safe way to work with BGA components :)
So these support brackets really are not optional nowadays. I feel that the current PCIe form factor for GPUs has come to an end. We need to be able to vertically mount our GPUs without blocking access to the other slots on the board.

One roadblock is that it sag only affects heavy GPUs and horizontal GPUs, which are both only present in consumer GPUs. Intel's ATX & PCI-SIG don't bother to change, as in the enterprise / datacenter, all GPUs used vertically and that's where all the money is these days. :( I think the "cheap" solution is adding GPU support brackets directly to cases (and not bothering with the PCIe slots at all). Lian-Li's GB001/GB002 are a good step forward, as these support brackets directly attach to motherboard standoffs.
I am baffled. It says difficulty 3/10. I have a repair shop in germany so i was expecting that i could have done this, because i probably rank among the top repair shops soldering wise in my city. I neither have the memory test nor have i found anything online, I personally dont think desoldering, reballing (in this case replacing one) and soldering 4 memory chips on the same gpu should be a 3/10. I know i still have a lot to learn and I hope can get better from watching your videos, but neither I nor any repair shop in my city has a memory rework station so this repair would have been complicated or even impossible for me or any other shop in my city to do. And then its a 3/10 according to you xD Keep up the good work, i hope i'll become better and maybe then I can apply for a job at Krisfix.

Thank you The difficulty rating is a very relative value dependent entirely on your view of the problem. We have done this exact repair on this model over 900 times. Maybe on the first repairs it was a 10/10, but with time and experience things look easy

What a great and hones review! And what an absurd number of repairs of just this card! Absolutely insane!
Отличное видео коллега))
glad i watched this video, i mount mine vertically so im not worried about this sort of issue but my back up PC i will change that case to limit issues in the future. i wish i had known about your channel about 2 years ago i have a dead GPU on a 295x2 card works fine on the other GPU but its not as fast as the other 295x2 card i have as a result of this. might be an old card but still plays all games today even if i cant find drivers games run and play well enough
I'm so happy I went with a vertical orientated card this time around.. I didn't even know anything about these problems, I just wanted a new look. (Inverted Case FTW)

Nice job... 👍 And as always teaser involving some new tools for testing 😂

Awesome video
After watching your video, I bought a GPU holder to protect my brand new RX6900XT from gravity. Thank you ! :-)

Where did you get one from? :)
My 6950XT was hanging on the slot because I can't fit the support bracket due to the 3 power connectors and the massive CPU air cooler I have so I glued a plastic cube to the drive bay of my box and it does the job. Definitely important on these massive cards and I hope a few weeks without support didn't start to damage mine.

@@sk-sm9sh When I opened my GPU for a repaste I was pleasantly surprised to see that the memory chips closest to the PCI slot are glued in additionally. PowerColor probably knew this was an issue and made sure to glue them as hard as possible.

@@nasko235679 No amount of glue will ever help with GPU sag. I've seen people who built their PC themselves to save a few euros but didn't think that the support bracket was there for a good reason so they lost an expensive GPU. Actually not lost but.. you know what I mean.
I have a XFX 6950XT. I don't know if I run the same risk but I'll definitely keep it in mind
support bracket was the first item I ordered after purchasing my 6800xt will make selling easier in the future

Great video even though I don't do electronic repairs, but I like the content. Question: When you sprinkled the tiny solder balls, how did you place the chip to be reballed without them falling?

I’ve ordered a Coolermaster ARGB bracket for my Asus TUF RX6950XT after watching these videos. Not risking a broken card😅

Hi. Cannot you repair broken pads on RAM chips? Maybe using a dremel tool to expose copper leftovers?
what software do you use to diagnose the memory? this is not the Tserver, which is it?
Man I wanna be a computer doctor
Is the rx 6600 considered heavy to need support?
Where i can find the software to test the card? I have a powercolor 6800xt redevil that has memory problems!
Can you please guide us through how to test notebook gpu's with nvidia mods/mats? Can't seem to figure out why but i've not been able to test my gtx1050 on the notebook.
Hi all, What software is being used to test the memory in this video?
Hello. From what source did you get soft for amd cards?
Hello Kris. Where can I find this software? Regards
Mine was letting out smoke while playing in VR but as soon as I smelled it, my PC already shut off and refused to turn back on. I installed a 1660 super into the PC and it works again but my 6900XT smells really badly burned and I don’t know what to do, especially since I need this PC later today…
what is the type and size of gpu rx 6900 xt screws?
Is it better to mount the card vertically or as long as you have a GPU support bracket is that enough?

I tell this to every PC builder: "Don't let you card sag!" Some of them told me that i'm stupid that it does not matter.
Only thing to point out that the ram slots should have being alot closer to the gpu slot to prevent ram modules from breaking traces

@@KrisFixGermany that is quite a piece of kit and for a shop like yours it is absolutely CHEAP I am a heavy truck / Lorry mechanic and use a LOT of tools that are MORE EXPENSIVE then that thing
Is it difficult to go between German and English letters? I’d constantly have to think about it lol.
whats the price of this repair?
8:37 Just the amount of tools and equipment you need to fix these cards. You what's going on if you see Chinese and English writing on the buttons of the machine. That's nothing you find on your local Craigslist...
Hi Bro, Im from Brazil, and I working repair graphics cards, can u share this software for testing Vram on AMD series RX 6xxx? I have some but every time I try to boot, grub returns failed as code 13 on unbuntu.
Класс)
Can you please tell the name of the software used for finding which memory banks are bad. Thank you.
plug it in and show it working
Isn’t this a faulty design from AMD? Customers can’t be expected to know that the memory chips get damaged, most other GPUs work just fine even when slightly bend. Although I am glad your shop exists, I am wondering how did you get so many RX 6XXX gpus? Shouldn’t they be under warranty? Were most of the cards bought directly from AMD and second hand owners couldn’t claim a warranty repair? So many questions… still thanks for repairing my card. I am contacting AMD directly and see if they will replace it. If not, maybe my university has tools good enough so I can reseat the memory myself. I guess you can’t/won’t tell us where you get the memory test software from?

It's a pretty old and familiar problem, but manufacturers just haven't learned or don't want to
@Dandan-tg6tj

If you begin with "perhaps" you should most definitely not do it yourself. You think it's easy and once you've seen it on KZread you can do it yourself because it seems to be easily done? You will lose your card forever. Think about this: how easy it looks to ride a bicycle? How easy it actually is before you learn the skill? There's no way you can do it first time, right?
