I can't even think how depressed Qrow will get after this season.. I just hope CRWBY won't kill him off.. He's literally my favourite character, he's so well designed imo, funny yet serious, always so lonely.. He needs more happiness!

I like your analysis about Qrow's mentality. I'll like to add that another factor about his depression is the death of his fellow huntmen and partner, Summer Rose. During his delirious state on Volume 4, he seems STILL seems affected by her passing. If you pay attention more closely to Team STRQ old photo, you can little stain of tears and circle from a glass. This is mostly my especulation from my part, so take with a grain of doubt. I also like to add that while Qrow have a warm heart. His negatives attributes and flaws needs to be adressed too. People with depression tend to show a more reckless streak and irritable attitude. What's the first thing as the audience saw during Qrow's official cameo? Getting drunk. And then shortly after went to destroy Atlas's robots for fun, pick a fight with Winter and destroyed part of Beacon's property. It's possible that his alcoholic tendencies have an influence on Yang. Because during her Yellow Trailer, we can see her driving to a bar and asking for a (possible) alcoholic drink, and she was still underage during that time.

True, I didn't mention Summer Rose and team STRQ, I am hoping that we learn more about them soon and can make a separate video on them. You raise and excellent point about Qrow still being affected by her passing though. His recklessness is definitely apparent. In the case of taking out the Atlesian Knights, him being drunk definitely didn't help things but I think it also came from him wanting people to be aware that the technology wouldn't be enough to keep everyone safe. The part with Yang ordering a drink, do we know what the drinking age is in Vale? I know Junior said she looked a bit young to be in there but I think she ordered the drink more to fit in than to actually drink alcohol. Great ideas!

Fun Fact! Qrow's semblance has been active since birth; his mother died during childbirth. The Branwen tribe picked on him, seeing him as the cause of death of what was essentially the tribe's queen.

My head canon for the voice change was that he’s actually sober after Volume 6 I know it’s stoopid...

Qrow is an amazingly complex character. A man who brings misfortune wherever he goes, it's difficult to make friends and even harder to develop meaningful relationships. We now know that Summer didn't die due to his Semblance, but we know he's still haunted by her death, as seen in his poisoned state in volume 4. My head cannon is that he is Ruby's father, which gives more reason to his alcoholism. A man who brings misfortune can be dangerous to a child growing up

After what happened with Clover, I think Qrow is going to relapse pretty badly. :(

a heart to heart with Ozpin, that is what would like to see. He needs to see that Ozpin was a friend even if he lied. Qrow has done good, but he has just seen the bad over all that time to realise it. I can understand his anger with the truth, but I still did not ike to see it. and if Clover was a traitor it would just feel liek history repeats itself. Realsing the cause of Ozpin gave him something must be the key to find out something was worth it in life good analys.

I hope Qrow and Clover fight and Qrow will figure out how to use his semblance more directly and be more confident about himself

Qrow could’ve been angry due to him wasting a majority of his time fighting on Ozpin’s side, along with the issue that his teammate (maybe more than a teammate) Summer, (possibly) died to Salem. He thought that Ozpin should’ve stopped Summer from going to Salem, therefore preventing her death.

Layers of manipulation theory: Clover (who may or may not be evil) will work on boosting Qrow's self-esteem, mental stability, and semblance control. Qrow begins helping out with Ironwood's plan, maybe even being present for when the "Salem" announcement begins. Hey, wow, everything is going great! Qrow feels like he's in control of his semblance for the first time in his life. The "Evil Plan" is to get Qrow as heavily involved with Ironwood and as close as possible to the Amity Satelitte project. At the time of the satellite launch, or when Salem attacks, they will break his spirits and cause him to completely lose control of his semblance. I'm picturing like a negativity bomb that sets off a domino effect of bad things. I could see this complete shattering of Qrow's spirits being caused by a report or fabricated video of Ruby being killed (created by Watts). If he chose other duties over protecting her, I feel like it would destroy him. Or maybe everything will be fine and Qrow will live happily ever after. Sub-theory: Qrow will be guarding the satellite as Salem attacks. He gets injured and sacrifices himself to drive the arena away from Atlas. (Injured so he can't fly away once it's over the ocean or something) Sub-sub-theory: Raven could portal to him and save him with a witty sisterly remark at the last minute.

I think that to get at the bottom of his depression we need to know why he feels guilty towards Summer, as shown when he was delirious under the effects of Tyrian's poison. I believe he introduced her to Ozpin's cabal, and when she learned of Salem and what her eyes could do, she went to take on Salem alone, never to return. So maybe it's that?

So just to add to this. I wanted to make one other point and mention some others. It is said that all humans have light and dark within them. Pyrrha herself even saying that we all have some of both and understanding that is key to using aura. It stands to reason then that more negative individuals would dip more not darkness and thus would manifest semblances on the more negative aspects of themselves. Like Qrow and his misfortune of Blake and her shadow clones that push herself away from danger. Helping her flee from anything. Adam absorbing the energy from dust that hurt him so in life and using it to attack people. We never see him absorb energy from normal attacks. Only dust. And he is afraid of damage and uses his sword as a conduit for his aura. Even someone like Maria for all her confidence even back then was so paranoid and afraid that she hid her identity and manifested preflexes from her paranoia. Velvet likely started to mimic due to mistreatment as a faunus and wanting to be like everyone else. Yatsu had a stigma from being a large child and wanting people to forget him. Even Coco amplifies dust likely as part of feeling unnoticed and wanting to stand out. And since dust is so flashy and important. She made a semblance that makes it even better so she gets recognition by proxy. I'll finish on Pyrrha who was likely pressured and trained so hard against human opponent's and weapons. She manifested a polarity semblance out of a desperate need to be the best and please her family. Also reflecting her nature to attract unwanted attention and repel those she wishes to be close. I could go on but you can fill in the blanks on others I think.

That takes a very keen eye to notice details like those. Since hardly any of these are ever verbally explained (save for the comics), that takes a great amount of perception to see the themes, and how they physically manifest themselves as the characters' semblance. It's why I'm usually so lost when it comes to how a semblance can manifest in a person.

It makes me wonder if the reason Qrow has less control is that practicing with bad luck is inherently unsafe.

I'm curious how much experience Clover has compared to Qrow. As the leader of the Ace Ops he's hyped up to be a top rank huntsman and chapter 3 showed us his impressive skill. But I am hesitant to believe he's as skilled or more skilled than Qrow, because Qrow essentially has been on history's most dangerous spy mission for year, plus he's on par with Tyrian; Salam's trusted assassin. What I am looking forward to or at least hoping for is a bit more insight into the mechanics of Fortune semblances, and maybe Qrow could learn from Clover about it. Bad Luck is one of the more interesting semblances but it hasn't had a lot of impressive feats. What I really want to see is Qrow's semblance evolve from learning from Clover. Like Qrow could condense his misfortune into a visible black cloud and target it on his enemies, and the worst stuff would happen, like randomly bursting into flames or everything is just magnetically drawn to the target.

He's been working with the main man fighting against the forces of the main villain for years. His skills caught his attention as a kid. So realistically Qrow should be one of the few who has experience that exceeds most including Ace Ops

I've had a theory that Clover's semblance doesn't work the same as Qrow's. While Qrow's is more of just a passive effect applied to everyone around him that he can amplify, Clover's, I suspect, is actually based off of his good luck charms that he has on him. So maybe if he didn't have those charms his good luck would be little to none, but with those charms on him, he has a good amount and if he interacts with his charms he can amplify it for himself. Maybe even just a state of mind kind of thing, idk.

Sonow Brand I think that Clover’s charms actually help co rain his luck. He flicks it when he wants something to happen that’s luck. So maybe they help contain his luck so that the bad guys don’t get any extra help.

That was good, I really liked your take on this. Sooo glad you did not go down the romance path that so many others have with Qrow and Clover. What is wrong with them just becoming friends? I also wonder if they are hinting that Clover may be related to the waitress at Higanbana ( I sure hope Tyrian didn't hurt her). That could be what CRWBY was hinting at with the "Lucky You" line.

Exactly, although I have no problem with people shipping characters, I feel it needs to be done with perspective and with the idea that other options are possible. If Clover is related to the waitress from a couple volumes back, that would be amazing! I really hope they include little tie ins like that.

Qrow has a relationship with the bottle, until his kid called him out on it.

To compare the new and old outfits, notice that Qrow lost his necklace. A sideways cross is a symbol of mourning which is no longer present in his new outfit. Instead, along the buttoning on the chest of his shirt are upright crosses, probably signifying that he’s finally able to move on. Ive also heard people talk about the “vines” on his sleeves symbolizing regrowth and life. On a separate note, I’m really happy to see my boy actually happy for once. I’ve saved literally every shot of Qrow smiling that I could find in v7

I think Clover could just be under orders from Ironwood to find what he can from Crow about what there're not telling him while Ironwood focuses on other stuff for the time being.

I hope we see Qrow dealing with the loss of Clover (and temporary loss of Team RWBY & Jaune) with Robyn in Vol. 10. Although many ship them (as I have), I hope they form a healthy peer friendship first which he so desperately needs (see "You don't know my friends. That's how it always goes.")

As a dedicated huntsman working for Ozpin against Salem, it _could_ be argued that his closeness to Ruby (contrasted with his relationship with his actual niece) is because of her silver eyes, but really we all still think Qrow is Ruby's biological father, right?

Nice vid on Qrow. I was wondering if you could do a theory on Summer's awareness of Salem. Reason I bring this up is due to Qrow saying that her last mission was her secret, not one of Ozpin's. I read comments on another video that it was Summer who asked Jinn the first question. I'd be interested in how she managed to get hold of the relic of knowledge and what she asked Jinn, cuz I believe this was what influenced her going solo.

I definitely plan on doing a video about Summer's awareness of Salem, probably next week. I just wanted to wait till the episode was available to the public to avoid potential spoilers. That is a great idea though that Summer could have asked that first question of Jinn! I'll make sure to comment on that, thanks for bringing that to my attention!

I repeat that theorie to my friend since the episode 1 (traitor part it's just since the episode 3) but none of them belive me. Happy to finaly see someone who think the same ^^

Qrow is as well my favorite male charachters. We saw of low he got into volume six and i can't wait to see what will happen here( i don't remember trough when they mentioned a traitor in the Ace Ops, maybe I should rewatch the episode), he will probably start to slowly get up, maybe Raven's return could also help things and finally pushing him to tell all he know about Summer. After all, let's be honest, outside of Ruby and Yang he was the only one to speak of her. Plus, i've a little theory about Grimm i'd like to discuss with you.

I'm worried that Qrow will fall into a deeper pit of despair and he'll end up joining the side of Salem. He would be an incredible weapon for her, imagine if he amplified negativity or bad luck....how many grim he could attract. 'if you can't beat em, join em.' With the betrayal of Ozpin and if clover is a double agent like i think he may be, i don't know if Qrow is going to make it to recovery. I rly hope he does.

I think his semblance is a lot more simpler than that. I believe his semblance is the ability to down a person's aura momentarily. During the volume 4 fight between Team RNJR he so much as only kicked Ruby once and you can see her aura burst like it was nothing. Keep in mind that although they were already fighting for a bit, but Ruby herself was never really injured during that fight aside from the kick. There was also another example of this in volume 7 but I would rather not spoil it just yet.

Qrow will die by the hands of Salem same how Summer died. Remember this. Hazel will turn good and betray Salem.

They already have. I personally found it a little funny how Unicorn of War tried to justify that Clover's wink to Qrow was flirtatious. I don't know either way, but I think sometimes too much time is put into justifying ships.

I think Clover might teach Qrow how to focus his semblance, like focus on an enemy and not affecting the rest of the team. He might teach him to focus bad luck on himself, so others are not prejudiced.

If Qrow worked one on one with Clover, he could actually unleash his semblance cuz it would after the enemy with out affecting Clover. It wouldnt be that he wouldnt have to worry, but he could actually use his semblance.

Not gonna lie...I don’t think he’s gonna have a path to recovery anymore...

Qrow will marry to Clover & Ironwood.

To be honest, I REALLY don't like how they manage Qrow's depression arc. It was the perfect occasion to bring mad friction in the show by making him a vilain. Like, his depression make him crazy, making it believe that he's born to bring misfortune to people, thus procceding to bring that said misfortune by attacking people all around him, like a false destiny. Of course, the breakdown moment when he decide to do bad things is in Ruby's and Yang's vicinity, and they can't stop him since he's too strong. Ruby's heart is broken, Yang is mad worried, tension is at it's peak, but they have to move on. They continue their journey (all of this happen on vol 6), but they do something to notice Taï and Raven about Qrow, maybe via news paper of something. And the volume after or in the last chapts of vol6, instead of that weak-ass Adam fight, we got Taï and Raven who team-up to bring Qrow back (possible since Raven have portal on Qrow and Taï). The fight is tense, Qrow's Bad Luck semblance is amplified via his evil behavior and put them in a situation where even Raven in Maiden mode can't handle him. Then they decide to reunite with Ruby's group via Raven portal (since she also have a portal on Yang). Ruby, Yang, Raven and Taï fight him and handle him, then Ruby use a Talk no Jutsu to bring back Qrow on the good side. Then, an arc redemption begin for Qrow, where his new goal is to protect Ruby and Yang at all cost, being their guardian and help them to become elite huntress. With this, no need for a Good Luck semblance, this shit is not good to me cause again, everything in this show are to easy, no friction, never. Without this semblance, you still have the Bad Luck factor, but Ruby and Yang ARE the one to keep him straight and relieved, not a random dude coming out of nowhere. Would increase tenfold the family link between them, implying more interaction between them instead of having Yang caring more about trying to ship Blake than taking care of her depressed uncle. Plus, let's be honest, with this, Qrow's badassness goes up tenfold too XD. Well we won't have that now, but maybe they can do it in this volume, if Clover IS a traitor (please RT make him the traitor). In that case, Qrow goes again in lil depression but Ruby AND Yang take the responsibility to be there for him, Giving him a new purpose: entrust his life to her, like he did with Ozpin. With this, Qrow's arc is complete. You just put in and there some mini-speech where he talk a lil bit of his feeling about that subject and we're all good. Qrow's still one of the best character tho, but his was badly managed in my opinion. EDIT: on the Raven&Taï vs Qrow fight, the best is that they beat him in 2v1, not in 4v1 like I said earlier but the fight stay tense to the point that if it was 1v1, they lose to him cause of his amplified Bad Luck (amplified by his will to bring misfortune to people). They bring him to Ruby after the fight via Raven's portal, and then Ruby use the Talk no Justu, with Qrow begging for pardon at the end, crying in disappointments and regrets.
