RWB Philadelphia #1 | Prince (4K)

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Philadelphia births its very first RWB in a unique location. In this documentary we watch Akira Nakai create yet another one of his masterpieces for Ben Harmony in his home garage. What makes this build unique is that it doesn't take place in a shop or store but in the childhood home of Ben Harmony for just him and his family to observe. We see the Harmonys get emotional once the build is complete and what Ben has worked so hard for, at such a young age of 22, sits in the garage of the house he grew up in. Every move we see Akira Nakai make is meticulously calculated inside in his mind and then immediately transferred the car. What came from 3 days of that is pure beauty. The newly named "Prince," after the "Fresh" was dropped by Nakai, winds its way around Pennsylvania back roads before ending up inside an abandoned cement factory. Philadelphia's first RWB build is something that we soon wont forget being a part of. Make sure to watch the Behind The Scenes video of this shoot here:

    Now-now, lets not get all fascist about wheels.....people like or dislike whatever they damn please, and some people just think of RWB, with its goofy window-sticker and barnyard looks as, well, the Stella Artois of cars :) Don't mean they aint your friends, just that in this particular matter, they find it hard to relate, is all.

    Nakai is just bad ass, what a privilege to have him build this car at the owners home. For those that diss the RWB build, it may because they do not understand what it is they are looking at. Its like getting to own your very own early-mid 90's GT2 Evo Porsche Racing Car.

    This is so much more than just a car video, this is showing such heavy emotion of passion. To bring the family in on this, showing the pure enjoyment out of everybody in this video, sharing the love with your friends. It's just insane. The production quality on this is flawless. Another great video. You need to be making big time movies because damn, you could change the industry Chris. Keep it up.

    What a class act!! I wish i could still drive. Had a 1986 420SEL big body Benz it was a fine piece of German Engineering. I drove it 300,000 of its 500,000 miles it had on it. Wasn't so nice i was afraid to do things nobody eles would dare to do to a car with a original purchase price of $95k USD. Went 160 in that beast felt like 80 in other cars ive owned. Loved that thing so much until I was paralyzed during a surgery then told i couldn't see good enough anymore 😢 Im building a E-trike now to get me into something with a motor on it! This video brought me back down memory lane thanks guys that thing looks killer & even better bringing a family & culture together ❤️ keep em coming great job gentlemen & gentleladies!

    I have to say that the man knows his craft (RWB) and no matter what, Ben went a very cool and unique route with his Porsche. Even if he seems like a hipster kid with rich parents... I have always been sort of divided on wether or not Nakai was just your typical Japanese customizer who got popular, but at the end of the day, it doesn't matter because IMO RWB Porsches look stunning compared to most. I find it ironic how everyone was clamoring over his ability to do it all by eye, but that is 99% of the aftermarket car industry here. A lot of the work and mods would be considered cheap diy or rice in the states, but if it's done in Japan by locals it's considered JDM as fuck... Nakai is one of the few that hit a grandslam, and his work is now recognized as an iconic part of car culture. I loved the constant shots of the Japanese spray and tools. Basically less than 100$ in shit you buy at the local Makeman (like a Home Depot). I hope Ben appreciates the car as much as I think he does.

  • @shanedrake2

    @shanedrake2

    Because the video (which was amazing to watch) made Ben look like an entitled hipster douche that had mommy and daddy fund his Porsche build so he can drive by the local poor neighborhood kids. I mean, I highly doubt he is like that, but that's what I felt when I watched the video (so it must be true).... Lol anyways, it's just an opinion right? Check me out on Instagram (@draklore) I build shit like Nakai, all by eye, no measuring... Someone fly me to philly so I can cut up their car, it won't look good, but the video will make me look like a god. Congrats everyone, papa bless 100k followers all around

    Erdwins Joseph Yeah I did watch the video. Not sure what your definition of "work" is... maybe you are also one of those rich entitled kids whose parents make them "get a job" to "pay" for their Porsche.. Or maybe you think this kid is one of those teen entrepreneurs who just hit it big with no help from mommy or daddy... The rest of us just see it like it is, it takes money to make money, and even if this kid "worked" for this car, more than likely it was by and large due to his parents either giving him a position where they work, or flat out just making him feel like he earned it because he had to get a normal job like the everyone else his age who drives a beat up Honda. At the end of the day, does it matter? Not really, You still drive a shitbox and this kid owns a RWB porsche.

  • @shanedrake2

    @shanedrake2

    I guess that's the biggest thing to hate about the RWB Porsche. Nakai San is a humble dude from a small prefecture with a small shop and cars tossed to the side. his personal car "Stella" is a cobbled together mess. But the owners of the RWB cars tend to be completely the opposite, the kind of people who will pay top dollar for a Porsche, and then fly a Japanese man and all of his equipment across the globe so they can have the latest trend car and kill the local scene. To me they are incredible looking cars, and I am sure some of the owners are respectable dudes. But lately the only thing you see is people getting into car culture simply to try and "break necks". I feel like a majority of the people who bought RWB porches fall into that category. The kind of person who doesn't know they should treat cut sheet metal, or be amazed by someone riveting prefab panels onto their 100k$ car. The type of person who will call a production company to come film someone fitting body panels to their car using 2,000Y (18$) worth of materials bought at makeman, and act like it is some lost art. IDK my only question is DID YOU EVEN WATCH THE VIDEO?

    If you can tell, his dad really wanted it done too. He and his son probably worked on this car for a while, maybe even restoring it. It could have even been handed down to the son. But yeah, the "sacrifice" part was a joke. But you know, whatever. If they're all happy, let them be happy.

    Alright, that comment has strong overtones of bitter jealousy. The car guys around here should know what it's like to finally have the car you want, whether you built it from scratch/bought it as-is/hired a shop to build it. If you're fortunate enough to have your parents pitch in to pay for a car of your dreams, have at it. This is supposed to be inspiring, not instill bitterness and jealousy.

    To put this into perspective, he said he only had to "sacrifice" for a few months. The car, the wheels, the air-ride, the body kit, and nakai himself. Thats well over 100,000 grand in a few months. Im sure none of you understand whats involved with ordering an RWB kit. This kid is absolutely blessed to shit that his Daddy does what he does. Ive honestly never been to a meet, to a club, or to anything that involved someone that was known as daddy sponsored being respected, or throwing down in their vehicle.

    The RWB founding concept seems so "grassroots" to me. The brand came from nothing but a dream and an artistic eye. I love his work. To see it get sold to some kid with Yeezy sneakers, the pidgeotto haircut, and rich parents? Man...I dunno. I guess if you have money you can get whatever you want. Maybe I am jealous. I don't know. I would much rather have seen Nakai build a car for someone who had an old beat-up car. Someone whose passion in life was solely cars and driving. Someone who doesn't have the latest clothing, a big house, etc. Someone who represented what RWB when it first started. But that's my opinion. Congratulations to the owner for owning such a legendary piece of work. Don't crash it.

    There was. "Mr. K" Yutaka Katayama is the father of the Fairlady 240Z concept. He quit Datsun/Nissan in 1975 when his concept was taken over by executives who wanted to change his lightweight sports car into the "Fatlady Z" as he called it. Weighed down with electric windows, electric seats, T-top roofs... all the luxury crap a true sports car wouldn't have. Notably actor Paul Newman had a fairly successful racing career racing Datsun/Nissan Z-cars.

    Nailed another one! What I love about Nakai's work is he is the real deal and loves spreading it across the world. We grow up watching these types of guys in anime or reading about it. He is the game, the real back country tuner, the man that can change things into gold with just his hands.
