@@jbrobele Africa is a lot better after colonialism. Population went from 150 million at the start of colonialism to 1.4 billion people today. Literacy rate went from 0 to 70%, electrification rate went from 0 to 55%, access to clean water went from 35% to 70%. That progress would never been possible without colonialism.

I find it interesting that Rwandan's give more love and respect to the race that caused the divide between blacks globally than those who share genetic connections. This is evident that the effect of colonization left behind that make blacks give privilege treatment to the oppressor and give mediocre treatment to other blacks.

Actually African people are divided since always. No matter your skin tone. As Europeans in Europe and Asians in Asia and American Natives in the Americas - Africans in Africa were never packed together by skin tone. We go by tribe. Nation. Tradition .Language. All things that genes don't bring with them, cultural lineage does .This was is and will be colonialism or non colonialism. Ethnic hatred is real and strong where you can see just "black" and "white" people didn't invent it. Just took andvantage as any other conqueror. (Also Arabs who made almost 20 millions of black slaves and castrated the males, having the help and complicity of rich African kingdoms very interested in the business . Money/wealth runs the show since always, too.

Who were the ones that sold the slaves to the europeans. They ran massive slave markets. The people that pillaged villages and caught ppl for slavery were their own kind but noone mentions that part. Also Arabs had more slaves and still do than any European country combined noone brings that up. The biggest slave owners in America were black! We've produced the most iconic international figures in every arena, from: politics, music, sports, entertainment, medicine, inventions....you name it. The whole world watches us to see what we're doing, do what we're doing; just to turn around and tell US that we don't have a culture. Do you know how insulting it is for someone to tell you that you don't have a culture while cosplaying you? We've given the world everything, a little respect is in order. 💪🏿 And just so you all know, we are NOT AFRICAN. Only about 3% of the Africans stolen during the TRANSATLANTIC slave trade were brought to America, most were taken to the Caribbean and elsewhere. There were BLACK indigenous people already here as documented by the earliest European explorers. We are different...all skin folk ain't kin folk.

Interesting. What was "FBA" culture prior to contact with yt folks? Just curious. Must have had tons of inventions and marvels that influenced even the ancient world. Trade with "FBA" should have existed thousands of years prior to the slave trade so what was "FBA" native or indigenous language? What were the foodstuffs and hairstyles? What was "FBA" family structure? What were "FBA" cities and universities like? Regarding early American history, warring and 'troublesome' natives were often swapped out or sold as slaves to the Carribbean and Caribbean slaves, particularly from Barbados, were sent to the Carolinas. Understand that? The large scale Carolina plantation was actually transplanted from British Barbados. The Yamassee wars, look up what happened to some of them. There's also a story about a slave doing prayers 5 times a day in muslim fashion. Why would he do that in white "christian" America? Was there a connection to his Muslim practices and the preexistence of Islam in west Africa? Listen, the building and MARKETING of America was a process. Many components were involved. Of course Black Americans contributed greatly to a variety of fields but don't play down or omit other populations. It makes "FBA" look like a wacky cult group.

First, Black people in the United States should drop the term 'Black American' and pick an African name for the (collective) group, probably KiSwahili on a practical level, e.g., Maboma ('many villages' < Kiswahili). The term African American (or African-American) has more dignity (and more comprehensive richness) by far comparatively, even though having a name w/o the word American in it will be far more beneficial and healthy. However, the "Black American" term does nothing to denote that the associated person is of African origin. In fact, the term "Black American" sounds like someone who is classified as an appendage culturally , ethnically and philosophically to the American, the name that the white colonizers, who founded the eventual United States, gave themselves. As you know, so-called African-Americans collectively emanate from the synergy geo-space of the Senegambia-Congo-Angola tri-node region+Mozambique vicinity+Madagascar; for convenience, I coin this as Kijiji Kikubwa ('big village' in KiSwahili). The basic African tapestry of the United States emanates from the cultural overtones of Congo and KiSwahili as extensions, e.g., gumbo; marimba; Jenga (woodblock games found in stores) and so on. Has everyone in the chat read the following books which expand my comments: Bantu Speaking Heritage of the United States (Vass, 1979); Kongo Across the Waters (Cooksey et al, 2012); UWENZI: The Pan-African Factor, A 21st Century View (Akombo et al, 2016)? If not, please do so. The African culture in the US is based on this geo-ethnic background (as I have earlier stated). Everyone needs an ethno-lingua-cultural reference for themselves which references the 7 major areas of culture: ethos, economics, politics, creative arts, social organization, history and mythology. Put all of the greatest talents, achievements and narratives from past and present under the banner of the new name. Though the group is based in the US, having a home and affiliation in Africa is part of the birthright as well as a conduit for economic and political leverage in a mzungu (white) dominated country (United States). The group should state that they are Africans. This creates proper order. Second, develop an Africa linkage/engagement plan. Multi-level engagement w/ Africa is the basic solution and path forward for African-Americans. Just thinking outside the box by a Bantu passing by.

@@jpaultelchannel1702 Everyone apologizing to everyone is a bit silly like I've already explained. You shouldn't apologize to anyone if you haven't personally commited wrong deeds against them. Also, we shouldn't be too quick to judge people from the past based on what we think is right or wrong today. What's considered moral changes over time. Take slavery as an example. For most of human history, in almost all cultures, people thought slavery was normal. Today, we see slavery as very wrong. But back then, people grew up in a world where it was common. They didn't have the same ideas about human rights that we have now.
