I found it very interesting how Nass won 2 games convincingly and Rw9 won 3 likewise. The last 2 games were more close, as if both stopped risky plays and went for foundational skills. I am not experienced enough in the game to see what strats/tactics were being changed, but it's fascinating to see how each player has a style that suits their skills yet can switch that style up to catch the other player out. I am also extremely impressed by Nass's acceleration, as well as his friendliness. I have not seen much of him before now.

Rw9 vs Zen 1 & 2 were of course legendary However the recent Rw9 vs Mawkzy low-ping and this RW9 vs Nass have been in my opinion just as compelling Fantastic matches, and Rw9 is rapidly approaching one of the top five (or even three?) most well-rounded players (1v1 & 2v2 & 3v3) in the world Aside: vs Nass in 1v1 looks like it's particularly exhausting, he has a very intense playstyle, I wonder if Rw9 feels this way or if he's just another opponent (I remember when Vatira exclaimed in quick-chat how intense his match vs Dark(?) was after it was over)

@@gregansbootstrap5352 Don't forget that RW9 plays ranked with bad ping, otherwise players like Mawkzy, Appjack, etc, would not be 1st in ranked so many times. With low ping nowadays RW9 is the final boss of 1v1.

@@LizemPool by bad ping do you mean 90? I don’t know if you’ve ever played on 90 ping before but it is the EXACT same as playing on 10 ping. The game only starts getting unplayable at 105-110 ping. You’re coping way too hard

@@gregansbootstrap5352 Yes, bad ping, I'm from SAM so when we play on NA servers we get around 110, I know how it is. Also SAM servers and Internet in general are not good so even on SAM server you play at around 60 ping some times.

this dude needs to get hired by rocket league or whatever organization to run RLCS competitions through his view of watching years and years of competitive gaming. i'm sorry but this seems like such a win-win situation for both parties. johnny breathing life into this game simultaneously creating more growth and wealth for the creators.

I completely disagree with Jonny here. Sure, if a player hasn't played a game mode in a literal year, then they might fall off maybe a few spots over time. But 3 months is not enough time to move somebody from number 1. It should be based on meta and time between tournaments

In 1s, 3 months is too long to be inactive and still be considered #1, especially when other players are more active and in good form. That said, I didn't think Daniel was #1 even prior to his inactivity. People put way too much stock on the result of a single cross-server showmatch.

@@Snapey81 I just don't think players that have been ranked number 1 multiple times in their careers, miss 3 months, and now they can't be considered AT ALL as number 1. This is done a lot too in previous metas. I remember Jonny saying fairy peak could be at Khalid(1 at the time) and did. Peak hadn't played 1s in a while. But it's not okay to rank these individuals even though we have confidence?

I can't use Daniel as an example, as I don't personally think he has ever been #1 let alone multiple times, but Rw9 has and yes - after a few months of inactivity Zen came in and usurped him with his insane showmatch run to take the #1 spot. Fairy is another, who held the #1 spot for over a year but then stopped playing 1s and other players (e.g. Khalid) came in to take #1. In both of these examples there was a series where the old guard came out on top (Rw9 v Zen showmatch, Fairy v Khalid in Fusion) but I don't think either result was enough to overshadow a) their inactivity over the previous months and b) the quality and win streak of their opposition prior to that series.

@@Snapey81You make a lot of fair points. I wasn't necessarily saying Daniel, I've never had him 1. Just the concept of the hypothetical. IMO when Khalid was at his peak, he could take a 3 month break, enter a show match and be the favorite for a lot of people. I think fairy peak too in the early days of Johnn ch. Joreuz is another I feel if they aren't taking half of the year completely off the mode and the meta doesn't shift. A huge disadvantage is if a new player pops onto the scene and whipes..

I think 3 months is ok but let's take Scrub Kill as an exemple, I think his last show match here was about a year ago, and nowadays the best place he gets in ranked is between 100th and 70th. So if it's a longer time I agree with Johnny but 3 months I agree with you

How is NA very clearly better at 2s? Literally the only proof of that is g8 which was a bo1 crew event, not a 2s tournament, and where NA only had 1 top level 2s team. He clearly said at the time he did have them as the best 2s team in the world as it was better evidence than nothing, but that was 8 months ago and there haven't been _any_ 2s events since then, either regionally or internationally. Meanwhile 3s we've had plenty of recent regional evidence to show which the best teams/regions currently are and several actual RLCS 3s LANs which took place around the same time as g8 which showed that EU was significantly ahead of NA. Your comparison is wild.

Johnny is literally only saying this because the best 1s player is Daniel no question. Anybody who's watched Johnny for years knows that he only monologues like this when it's about Daniel.
