RV Waste Valve Replacement - What you need to know before you buy an RV Waste Valve!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Every RV has at least 1 Black and 1 Gray water holding tank. Each tank has a waste valve that can fail, and when it does, you need to be prepared to replace it. There is more to it than just buying and installing it. Before getting a tool out, you should slide under that RV and determine which valve leaks and what size it is. Also, inspect for damaged fittings and pipes for leaks or potential leaks.
Now is the time to do this time of work. You will already have the tanks emptied and cleaned, and it is much easier to take a few pictures then go to your local RV Parts Store to purchase the right parts before you ever start.
There are some cases where taking apart the plumbing before you begin can aid in getting the right parts.
Eric Stark explains everything you need to know about RV Waste Valves.

I am so glad I found your video. I have an older Arctic Fox travel trailer with a leaky black tank valve. I haven't been able to find a mobile repair guy to come out and fix it, so was just about to make an appointment at Camping World to get ripped off again. The last part of this video showed the twist on valved just solved my problem. $20 on Amazon, and it'll be here in 2 days. You just got a new subscriber. Thanks!

Those "safety valves" can have a problem of falling off just when you need it most. Messy. The connection will turn and unlock when you are taking off the cover cap, twisting the drain hose, vibration from driving down the road, etc. Solution is to purchase and install a 4" Fernco connector for PVC pipe. Slide on the Fernco past the trailer's connectors, attach the safety valve, slide the Fernco toward you to cover the connections: tighten the 2 hose clamps, evenly. Viola! Fernco PNH-44 No Hub Coupling, 4 in, PVC,
