We live near the coast in NC. We escape to the mountains in July too. We are headed home in Tuesday. If you want good Italian food while in the Smokies you should check out Mamma Mia's. They moved locations. The calzones are phenomenal!

I spent time in the Southeast some 40 years ago for a few years, and never heard of Buc-Ee's. I just recently became a full timer and just took an extended stop break in Florida. I finally stopped in a Buc-Ee's for the first time. How could I not know about them? Their jerky is great, as is their fudge. I dropped more than a few dollars there on fudge and jerky. Also bought a small soft-side lunch box to carry my dog's dinner and water in when we go out. Cool place.

Dakota was feeling under the weather this week so he was mostly in bed….

I wish Buccees had separate pumps for RVs. Last time we were at the one in Robertsdale Al, the people with RVs took up both spaces at the pumps, and would go inside and leave their rvs parked at the pumps. It made it a long waiting game for those of us in regular vehicles. Its just something they should consider. Especially in heavy tourist destinations like the beach, or Smokies. That was on a day when everyone was heading home. And we literally waited in line for 30 minutes to leave the gas pumps. Its a fact though, you cannot get out of there without paying over 100.00 😂.

It's nice to see that you're still RV'ing! I'm more of a seasonal viewer, since we don't travel in the winter (yet!!), so it's been a while. You have such great ideas & information. We've had 2 camping trips so far this summer & have 3 more b-4 winter gets here! Your kids have grown so much since the last time I viewed a post! It looks like the adventures are still going well for all of you & that's wonderful! I can't wait until my hubby & I retire & start RV'ing so much more! Safe travels! 🏕💗

My wife loves Cracker Barrel, and I don't mind dry camping for a night when travelling (usually at a Bass Pro Shop). Sadly, I had a mishap with my Class A and the water pump is out of commission. No overnights at Cracker Barrell for a while.

You said you are going to the Great Smokey Mountains. I spent time there in my younger years. If you have any interest in antique or vintage motorcycles, I would highly recommend a stop at Wheels Through Time in Maggie Valley.

The Bucees store, anytime someone shows them, they always look so nutty busy! Canada doesn't have em. Don't u find those straw type mats track in little pieces of straw? How's yours holding up? 🍻
