All these years later and this is still like a sucker punch to the gut. I’m so heartbroken over their storyline I always will be 💔

Man, The writers dropped the ball on this one. We waited so long for Martin and Ruthie and they give a tatse and then rip it away. It killed whatever enjoyment I still got from this show when they did that.

I agree with her choice. He didn't realize how amazing Ruthie was until it was too late. He didn't realize her true potential at first. I say this.. If he didn't realize at first.. Then he didn't deserve her. A relationship is not all about looks people. I feel T-bone knew how amazing she was and for that he got her. Martin should have realized how amazing she was and shouldn't have treated her like a child all that time. Even if he did care about her.. It was too late. Ruthie realized that she needed someone who will accept her and realize how amazing she is. That's my opinion

They really screwed this one up. They should've had these two together. They should've really given them a chance. That T bone kid and her didn't have chemistry. These two did. If a reunion ever happens, these two should be married and with a kid at least.

??? No they weren't. Martin was because both Ruthie and Sandy rejected him but Ruthie chose T-Bone.

Ruthie and Martin would have worked if the writers would have let it grow

Amarie Wright:plus he struggles to see ruthie as a sister because of her age even when she's not old enough to be dating yet. Especially when he tries to convince himself and mac that he thinks of ruthie like a sister. Plus Martin did the right thing treating ruthie like a sister until she was old enough because of her age at the time they met. Same with mac he treated ruthie like a sister too even though he realized how amazing ruthie was when she was seeing Vincent at the time.

I have a feeling if budget cuts didn't force David Gallagher to depart, I would Imagine season 11 would have revealed Simon as the father of Aaron which was probably the plan but changed to Martin.

Martin did screw up big time...that's why Ruthie chose T-bone....he's safer and wouldn't hurt Ruthie like Martin did by sleeping with someone he didn't love and getting her pregnant...he screw up big time and lost his dream of marrying a girl with a big family...(what he said in Pater or Plastic season 9 episode 12)

Martin is 100x better than tbone can't believe a good show like this had such a crappy ending.

You are totally. Martin always regretted hurting people and he would apologized to them. The ending would be better if Ruthie choose Martin. Martin would not get someone else to break up with the person he was dating like T-Bone did when he wanted to break up with Ruthie but how to do it in a nice way. If T-Bone truely cared about Ruthie he would have never got someone else to break up with her when he wanted to end things with her and plus he would taken the effect to get along with her best friend she was scared to choose Martin over him. I think that she choose T-Bone because she thought that T-Bone was the safe choice and he wouldn't hurt her the way Martin did. I like to think that maybe somehow after the series final that Ruthie realized that she made a mistake by choosing T-Bone and finally be able to have a successfully relationship with Martin.

I totally agree with you. I wished that Ruthie had choose Martin over T-Bone. I believe that it was T-Bone never got Ruthie or saw the real her since he did have someone break up with her through a text message for him and a text message that got send to everyone excpet for Martin. It would have be very intresting to see how Martin would have reacted if he had saw the text message. I think that Martin alwsys knew how amazing Ruthie was but he was just to scared to admitted.

I was always a Martin/Ruthie fan and I didn't understand why they didn't end up together. However, my old relationship was like Martin/Ruthie and my new relationship is like Ruthie/Tbone. I get it that it's not what we fans wanted but I finally understood that Tbone was actually very good for Ruthie. He may not be as good looking as Martin but he is very good for her and to her. Martin took her for granted and became a jerk in the final seasons. Just because people look better together doesn't mean they're meant to be together. I think that was something the writers may have tried to convey. You don't always end up your first love. It's heartbreaking but you grow up, you mature, you move on. You find a guy who will love you despite the odds. I'm glad they show that Ruthie is finally happy. I know I am very happy with my guy now :)

Stephanie Musse Mila lied about her age to get the gig on That 70s show. Plus, this show is all about conservative Christian values, so to have the actors do something that could be seen as scandalous from their conservarive christian viewers (who give them money) would be an incredible risk simply for a kiss. You saw what happened when Jessica Biel stepped out of her "Mary" role off screen.

How the story between Ruthie and Martin totallt disappoints me until now, I don't know if the writers even considered the fans that wanted them both to end up with each other. I was hoping that at the end, Martin becomes a changed guy and both of them will be happy. When I realised that the next episodes were not going to be like that, I stopped watching. Good thing I did.

I watched till the end but I am disappointed too. And seriously confused because of how they ended season 10 with Sandy talking to Simon and we never find out what they talked about but they make it seem like she is telling him that he is Aaron's father not Martin. And I wish they had gone with that. I was really annoyed with the Sandy Martin drama in season 11 and I really wanted Martin and Ruthie to get together.

I don't get y wat happened between Martin and Ruthie is talked about but we never saw it happen y I really wanted them to be together

This kept coming up because I was looking for Tyler vids. It's been so long since I've watched the show....in my head I think Ruthie and Martin end up together, eventually. It will be a long road. A very long road, maybe even ten years. Martin needs to grow up and take responsibility for his actions and his life. He's had a rough life and he can use those memories to help others. He could be a nurse, psychologist, guidance counselor, etc...They need to go their separate ways while Martin matures and learns to love himself because it's the only way to love others including his own kid. I'm also saying this because I think the actors had good acting chemistry. Not all friends have to be love interests. I know Martin made very questionable decisions, but he's young and from a troubled upbringing. Things happen. Some will want Ruthie and Martin together, some will say that Martin ruined things for good. For me? These two were still young when this happened. Things change. People mature. Everyone has problems. As an adult, I've seen even the most spiritual and or religious people have problems. Lucky for them, their friends and family forgave them. I do think that Martin's character became THAT story. I'm not sure that the character started out to be THAT character, but he became the character that shows us that people make mistakes, but it doesn't mean that we have to be with them. Ruthie will find someone who loves her just the way she is. I guess that's the moral to the story.

Martins character development was terrible imo especially for how he acted this season, comparing him in seasons 8-9 to 11 are 2 totally different characters. In season 8 he was mature , had morals and very nice but in season 11 he was ditzy and a bit of a jerk.
