If Appleton or Iafalo is holding Rutger back then this is a no Brainer. Give the kid a shot.

It’s not about roster spot. When asked about signing on this very show he said when it’s time I will make the best decision for me and my family. I never heard can’t wait to be a jet. He was never going to sign in Winnipeg.

I'm on Rutger's side, sign him and give him a roster spot. There isn't much else he can do at the World Jrs or NCAA, get it done, don't fk this up Chevy.

Anyone saying this is Rutger's fault is dumb. I'm sorry, but if this organization can't find a spot for one of the leading scorers in the NCAA, despite being a very undesirable market, it's over. Just move the team then

@@ajjetsback1193 Not even close. Respectfully, you're far off with this one. This ownership group begs this city for season tickets, yet pulls brutal developmental garbage like this. Celebrini who had similar point production as Rutger will be in the NHL this year with SJ. Yet McGroarty wont be as a 20 year old because of our ownership/management. Jets fans have had enough

lKR!!!! Rutger wanted to play in Winnipeg. He was excited to have a chance to play. To have a rookie of his caliber, you NEED to give him a chance to play right away to see how he can best help the team. Too many people have the wool pulled over their eyes with this front office. The management has a clear pattern of simply holding on to rookies instead of giving them a real chance to play. Rutger deserves to do what's best for him. And if he's not going to have a proper chance at cracking the line-up because the third line of Lowry, Appleton and Niederreiter is so damn important, he deserves a chance to go somewhere else. And when he starts lighting it up on another team, showing the attributes that the Jets sorely are lacking, maybe this will finally open people's eyes that Chevy is not that good of a GM.

He's one of the leading scorers in the NCAA. He's a physical and he's a leader. The Jets are sorely lacking in both of these aspects. To tell him there's no guarantee he'll make the team, while deference is still being given to supposed different makers like Mason Appleton and Alex Iafallo. They could have told him they'd like to find a spot for him on the third line and he has to earn it. Instead, they just said we can't guarantee a spot on the main team. This is a culture issue with this organization. They keep relying on the status quo, and it's gotten this team nowhere. A different approach, like giving one of the best college hockey players a real chance at cracking the line-up next season, would be a welcome change and be a kick in the pants for the entire team. Instead, TNSE is going to have to trade one of their best prospects because they don't want to change how they do things.

Not a good look for TNSE. The guy could be the new face of the franchise, but the culture is always to prioritize experience over youth these past few years. And that hasn't gotten this team anywhere since 2018. This team has 3 playoff series wins, so maybe it's time to change the approach instead of letting rookies waste away on the Moose.
