I used to play an open mic at a place called Gino's Italian Grill in south Austin, early 2000's...I hadn't heard of Rusty Wier and his history but I was in for a first time watching Rusty play with nothing more than his guitar and his one of a kind musician:) Never seen one guy put out that much music that was felt by everyone in the room:) I witnessed a true master. RIP Rusty Wier

Must've been on a Tuesday night, right across the street from Walgreen's.....that's where I met Rusty too. World is not the same without him in it.

Wish I could have seen Todd Snider perform this the night KK Rider got knocked out on stage by his microphone when the girl flew off the swing in the bar!

My grandpa was there that night. He used to tell me about the girl falling off the swing. I always thought he was telling a big fish story until I heard Todd snider retell the story the exact same way

Loved playing at his Italian restaurant's open mic night in South Austin. It was a friendly place to play, very artist oriented, even burning a CD of the performance for each act to take home. He liked to get up at the end of the night to play a few tunes for us too.
