You really get a sense of just how small they are when you see it carrying a gerbil.

I thought the footage had switched to a bunny! Very hard to believe their tiny size with adult proportions

Yeah, it really looks like the shocking time my neighborhood's lovable stray calico casually crawled out of the neighbor's shed with this giant rat hanging out of her mouth.

The largest and the smallest (or at least one of the smallest) cats can be part of the same ecosystem and I think that is very cool, I love the feline diversity of my country.

So if its so wild and feral then why is it friend shaped then?
I'm Sri Lankan and I'm literally obsessed with wildlife biology but I've never heard of these cuties. Now I'm determined to see one.

Small cats don't get enough credit. Everyone always focusses on the big cats but there are so many amazing species of tiny felines that deserve more attention.
I know it's a wild creature, but OMG it's adorable!

Just to provide some clarity, my comments were specifically about the Rusty Spotted Cat. I'd like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Daniel and the entire Animalogic team for their exceptional work. Your efforts have significantly broadened my understanding and appreciation of the vast animal kingdom. Thank you.
India has 18 cat species that call the country their home, more than any other country.
Look, I understand that these tiny cats are wild animals that would absolutely term me to shreds, but not even risk of death would not stop me from at least attempting to pet one.
Another amazing cat in the Himalayas that is also rarely seen is the snow leopard. They live in the mountains of South and Central Asia, and only around 3,000 individuals are left in the wild. It is challenging to film at an altitude of 5,000m, so snow leopards are rarely caught on camera. But our camera crew in the Himalayas did just that. Their footage of a snow leopard mom and her two cubs gives unique insights into these mysterious animals' lives. Having such an insider look and learning more about this gorgeous species is amazing.
There is/was a species of small cat endemic to the island I live on in the Caribbean (Sint Maarten) that has gone extinct. I don't think it went extinct, though. I think it just bred into the local cat population, because every now and again you'll see a cat very similar to the ones in this video. They don't meow at all, they hiss and spit and are very aggressive

If it bred into the local population entirely, then it's extinct. Compare with the Scottish wildcat who is also endangered and is expected to go extinct, but it has heavily intermingled with domestic cats too. The hybrids aren't considered Scottish wildcats.
Finally I been waiting for years, for you cover my favorite wild cat thank you

I’m so glad to live in a world with so many different kitties!! My male cat is 8 pounds and I find him tiny and these guys are even tinier!!
Felines are amazing creatures. They're like predatory machines even the little ones are cute and beautiful hunters.
Someone needs to make a meme out of Danielle going "wow wow wow" when imitating a cat.
I`m SO happy to see a video done on the rusty-spotted cat! I`ve been eagerly waiting on one from your channel. I love knowing more about them, especially since I don`t see them talked about as much as others. Thank you for making this!

Tiny yet fierce, so amazing little felines. Love your artwork, perfect and captures the cat as it would be in nature. Wonderful video!
Great video! Also. The munchkin is smaller than the rusty spotted cat. Reason? Genetic mutation, in which it's legs are short. Very, VERY short.
They are so cute and so smart. Love cats.
Cute kitty
It’s nice to see Danielle having fun with the rawrs 😂❤
If they don't want to fight over who is the "Smallest Cat", maybe the Rusty Spotted Cat can go for the title "Least Cat"? Mathematically, there is the least cat in a Rusty Spotted Cat of any cat, and it has precedent in things like the Least Weasel, haha
It was pure joy to watch you draw this cat live 🥰😻❤

so this is the rusty spotted cat after all :D i was thinking of fishing cat by the end of the stream.. just so its not that easy
I'm amazed how much like wild cats my housecats are, and how unlike they are at the same time.
Awww, it's amazing that something so wild and so deadly could be so CUTE!
Hey! That's one of my cats, Jaguar! (Just kidding. He's a indoor cat that freaks out any time I take him near a door.)
I just noticed the animation of the pictures and it reminds me of the times when I used to watch nature documentaries after eating some "gourmet" mushrooms lol
Maybe paleologic could do videos on prehistoric cats like cave lions or saber toothed cats.
I'm kind of surprised farmers would go after them if they are known for hunting rodents. Seems like a free form of pest control as long as they keep an eye on their chickens.
@AppalachianLady
Жыл бұрын
If the farmers don't have easy access to fencing, they might just decide to kill every predator in the area. In America ,where I live fencing wire is relatively inexpensive and easy to get; so we're able to build enclosures to keep small predators out and thus live side-by-side happily.

@@AppalachianLadyNot going to argue with the price of materials but I've seen chicken coops on wheels made out of scrap parts. Even without, a rooster could probably hold its own and guard against a lone one. It'd be different if the cats were large enough to kill livestalk but these things are smaller than a house cat.

I'd be surprised if they don't go after chicken eggs, if not chickens.
More on the other cats please!!! Also why are they like so adorable I just wanna pull them out of my screen and hug them. Cats in general amaze me so I want more on them.

that's pretty cool that you watch videos in both languages. I wish I took the time to learn another one.
The outtakes at the end are hilarious. Never change.
the artist tool you are using should really get a promotion from/for you!!! to me (as a graphic designer) you are really showing it's range by doing that kind of stream in the background... and to be honest it got me quite interested.
Your drawings are excellent and you are obviously a real naturalist. Do you have somewhere that I might see more of your folio? Have you ever turned your hand to drawing extinct creatures? Your skill as a naturalist combined with your drawing ability would move you to the top of paleo reconstruction in very little time. We also need you, we don't have any pictures to go from.

Kitty’s eyes are purty!
I noticed that these cats have vertically slitted eyes, like domestic cats. Are they also purring cats? Thank you for showing this cat.
@nckojita

i dont see why they wouldnt be! afaik all cats classed as small cats can purr, so if a mountain lion can do it, they probably can as well
I think this is the first mammal they have mentioned that I was not familiar with. Good job discussing the less familiar animals folks.
Will you talk about water mushrooms? Like mushrooms that grow underwater.
Very cute, both the Rusty and the imitation!
I’m amazed by how much efficient are felines at hunting
I'd come here just for the amazing drawings!
I love that presenter’s on theme outfit. Meow ❤
Finally! I've been asking for this on and off for several years! I saw a short clip on BBC's KZread channel years ago and wanted to know more about them ever since ❤
This isn’t a cat suggestion but I’d love to see a vid on baikal seals… as long as you keep doing that “wow wow wow!” sound 😭😂
You do such a wonderful job highlighting lesser known wild cats. I'd love to see a video on the kodkod/guiña make it into the series someday! :D

Awesome vid! You guys should discuss the Bay Cat as well
I'd LOVE to see Animalogic cover some water species, especially the Portuguese man of war, a species so bizarre it's scary--it's both a predatory animal AND a colony/hive mind of different kinds of predatory animals all working together. Would make a great monster/alien for a film.

I believe there is a Star Trek Next Generation episode involving a similar creature that lives in outer space and mindlessly destroys/eats living organisms off the surface of planets.
Its the gerbil in the background just eating away while his buddy getting smoked in front of him. Like "oh Jerry's getting eating. Hey there's some lovely grass ." 😂
Great video and great thermal recordings too!!!
I love having your art in the videos
Please do horse breeds like drafts! That’d be amazing, especially how they almost became extinct
Next, hope you talk about jellyfish and how they catch and eat prey.
Danielle, you drawing skill is always amazing!

Can you talk about Japan's Iriomote Cat. It's a living prehistoric cat on Iriomote Island

It's not really "prehistoric" if it's still extant. Except in the sense that all existing species started before human history.
3:16 He looks so proud of himself!
Smol is the ratio of cat to standard soda cans! This one is roughly 1:7 I’d say! Very smol
Its bound to be the next cat species we'll tame
Thank you for this wonderful video!
Could you talk about pine martens next? I adore them!
We hear a cat meow but actually what we should be hearing is a roar!

Great as always from Animalogic, maybe next up Iriomote cat?
it has a very "snooby goobert" face, i love it
Do the Coatimundi! It's south America's cutest animal and nobody is talking about it.
my house panther is giving me the side eye while I watch this
Very informative and fun video!
Adorable predator.
Awesome video, thanks.😻
I'm surprised we haven't domesticated these little ones!
I don't know which is cuter: the cat or Danielle trying to imitate its voice.
While I love videos about various feline species, I'm too soft-hearted not to feel for the prey animals, so they always leave me feeling a little torn.
So cool! Thank you! Great video!
Little rusty spotted cutie 😂😂 I want to live in the wild surrounded by them
wish i could find a benefacter to clear out my 6 acres of field and build caging for small cats like these (and ocelots) and start a breeding program.
i love these cats thanx for the vid, just think how terrifying it must be to be this small in the jungle, yet you are still a predator.
You might have not seem them ever or where ever you dwell but we see them all the time, in fact I see one right now on the screen.
The ending was perfect😭❤️
