Me too (on the X) 99 step/ full back half/ 1/2"mic manuals,17 lexani SS 11pc bodykit. That was literally the first thing I did was debadge +pull the factory kit lol. Can't have NOTHIN nice

Awesome bro, I have a 2000 S10 same as yours but LS model. Glad to see someone doing it on a S10 specifically and read the comments that it took you 5 cans to do it. Real world because I'm painting mine outside too.

​@@ozzy541 Not much of a difference, Xtreme has a ZQ8 Suspension package with a 3rd shock and a 2 inch lowering kit on it. Same engine as mine 4.3 V6 buddy. Chevrolet didn't do any turbos or supercharges from the factory on these. It's not a difference to even be concerned about. GMC Syclone came turbocharged from the factory, again. Same engine.

​@@ozzy541 Plus I wouldn't want a Xtreme for construction by the way. Would ruin a nice truck and also wouldn't want something 2 inches lowered and driving on construction sites.

So as someone who has done this before, yes it works. But it's a pain to fix & do right after this. You have to get every last ounce, and then some, of that off to paint it properly. Prep work is key in a paint job, and prepping something that's been rattle canned will cost you even more in the long run. This is not a quick fix while you save money to get a real paint job. If you're not going to have a real paint job done then send it.

It works for my ranch truck that I’m going to drive into the ground then scrap it so idc about what happens after I spray paint it ha

I was told you can pull of the spray nozzle and use it on the shorter cans which will give you more color choices

Smaller cans don't push enough pressure for the turbo tip, use the 5in1 tip for a fan spray and more color choices

An official after pic would have been nice

My local NAPA Auto makes custom color spray paints based on a VIN. Somehow, they just need to make the tall 'turbo' can available to vendors along with decent spray tip. Rustolem has recently gone to a 5 option spray tipped in the cap (Check H-Dpoh). You no longer remove the cap. Just select the spray pattern, then shake, rattle and roll with it. Tip: Helps to set the can in hot water about 10 mintes before you get to sprayin' your new project.

You don't sand clear coats morons that's why it's called a clear coat to seal the base coat this is why you don't watch videos on the internet and listen to people's advice

I always wanted to know if you can spray latex paint through a gun?

Not criticizing I am asking because you had good results. Why did you jump around from area to area when spraying. I’ve always found that allows in for bad results but yours look better than mine in the past

Should have walked the whole length instead of the short stops,but it looks good from here

I want to do the same thing.. actually might even use the same turbo cans. I watch this other guy on KZread and he is almost a professional spray painting cars. Comparing you to him, you definitely could have used a better spray technique. Other problems are you're in sunlight and outside. I know it's hard to find somewhere to paint it, that's actually my main problem!

Yeah Mon we used to rent a booth on a Friday evening so are vehicals would be able to site in the booth until Monday morning. Some shop's will rent out there spray booths it don't hurt to ask., or you can make a temporary spray booth 2x4's and nails and some thick plastic a fan to suck out the over spray. I hear you it's hard to find some where to spray or even a good day to spray out side. We have sprayed vehicals down in the evening right when the wind died down and push the vehical in the shop to dry. Couldn't even tell that it wasn't painted in a booth. Seen car's painted in car ports. It just depends on where it's at If your neighbor's live to close then yeah I can see you don't want to chock them out with paint fumes. I've done that before as a teenager and didn't know any better until you get to spraying and when your done can smell the fresh paint throughout the neighborhood.

180g is too rough should sanded with 400g you will see scratches under the paint.

Hello dc4150, It took 5 turbo cans for me to paint the truck to give it a few coats and touch up/under wheel wells. I did not get inside the truck bed and will use another Rustoleum bed liner soon. I like the way the water beads up nicely when it rains though I just bought a cover to protect truck.

better if you clear coated it after.

For some reason the turbo black will spit and glob and a month later becomes dull. Its better to use the regular size gloss in colors other than black. I painted my s15 pickup in black and blue two tone. The blue is still shiny after a year and a half. The black is dull. Just sayin' I will never use the turbo cans again.

Speedokote single stage is only $150 for a gallon.

I got away with using a crappy pancake compressor and $15 gun and I still got great results except I just have to deal with orange peal which I don’t mind.

What am I doing wrong, I bought the same can and I only get about 5 to 6 diameter spray, I've bought a few cans, none have 10 diameter, ??

Because 2000 model would have been on the lot at the 2nd part of 99. Meaning they start bringing in the new stuff and rolling grout the old. This has always been a thing. Since it's 2023, you will soon start seeing 2024 models advertised on TV or on car lots and ready for purchase
