    Anytime I apply this, I’m wearing respirators, chemical gloves, goggles and protective pants. Your a brave soul. That stuff is pretty dangerous.

    You can also use citric acid which less caustic. Less dangerous. Critic acid like oxalic acts like a cheating agent/anti oxidant which is good for rust removal. (Although I made 30% citric acid solution) and it was thick and sticky.

    If you cut out this refraction it will work much much better. The surfactant causes the oxalic not to work itself into the pores as well.

    That enough...that should do it....and one more little pour must be the magic amount of "snot aid."

    Fun Fact: This stuff is the main ingredien in... Barkeeper's Friend. "Bar Keepers Friend (BKF) is a brand of industrial-strength, bleach-free cleansers that contain a variety of ingredients, including: Oxalic acid: A white crystalline organic compound that's known for removing rust, hard water stains, and mineral deposits. BKF's oxalic acid is usually sourced from plant waste by industrial suppliers. Feldspar: A mild abrasive Linear sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate: A surfactant Detergent: Helps wash away grime and food from pans "

    We used a 2% SH mix to surface clean a concrete patio. Then spot sprayed rust stains with Oxalic Acid and rinsed off. The spots where we sprayed the OA were much brighter and left it blotchy. Should we treat the whole surface with OA to make it look uniform?

    Yes that's exactly what you should do. Same with F9 barc. Always clean the entire pad to keep it uniform.

    What’s up, will this work good on hardi plank siding? Where the ac drains it left a big rust stain on the 2nd story.

    What is the difference between Ox and the Napa aluminum brightener?

  • @bethelgues3918

    @bethelgues3918

    3 жыл бұрын

    Different chemicals and reagents. For example "aluminum beightener" contains sulfuric acid, among other things. Honestly use what best for you, but if you clean windows, and are trying to remove rust off of metal use oxalic or citric acid. They prevent rust while you're cleaning the part (sulfuric acid for example is a strong oxidizer which promotes rusting, which doesnt matter for aluminum). Citric is safe enough can touch with your bare hands (of course I wouldnt drink it or squirt into my eyes)

    If you want to treat a smaller area and want it pre made and less concentrated, bar keepers friend is oxalic acid powder too pot and pans if the strongest. And if you need it to stop working straight away, baking soda is a great counter agent
