im from Scotland, and i have travelled to russia twice in 10 months. Its a fantastic country with great friendly people. it took me 4 hours to clear immigration but it was all friendly.

Pleased to see you making more videos again and especially with the subs. If the terrible acts of some country's leaders would deeply impact on language studies, that logic would mean that nobody should study most of the European languages like German, English or French due to their historical eras. There will be better times ahead. Therefore you Dasha, stay safe so that you can continue your important work on teaching us. Your contribution surely is not wasted.

Totally agree. Love Russia and its people with all my heart! It pains me that a few leaders are smudging the name and reputation of such a great country. My only dream is to be able to go back to Moscow and Saint Petersburg one last time. 😢❤

A lot of countries in the West are doing horrible things now but we're still learning European languages. Languages have nothing to do with politics, let's enjoy languages for what they are and what they offer :)

I didn’t stop speaking English after all the times the Anglo-American empire levelled countries, murdered civilians & children, enacted regime change and interfered in their internal affairs. I won’t stop speaking Russian just because of the war in Ukraine

Well said. Because of the West we seem to forget what goverments in the West have done in the past (or are doing right now). We should stop looking at people as enemies. Let's enjoy learning Russian despite political propaganda trying to censor a language (it sounds ridiculous to censor a language)

I agree.I am the one of the people who started to learn russian in Fabruary 2022.As the whole situation reminded me of how I always liked the sound of russian language when I learned it at school so it wasnt difficult to start.I also work with russians and recently I found out that they dont speak in a normal way with me !!!!!!!!They just speak very slowly and clearly so that I could understand them hahahahah this is exactly what Max does in his videos.And I simply thought that I'm so good that I understand almost 99,8%😁

It also seemed unlikely to me that people who genuinely wanted to learn Russian, would be affected in any way, by recent events. If you agree or disagree with things Russia does or does not do, what does that have to do with acquiring a language ? The people of Russia are not the ones running the Russian state, same for the western people. To me it seems the Russian language even gained importance, since the west definitely has drawn the shortest straw, economically and from a geopolitical point of view. After the dust has settled, we have to talk and interact with Russia on a much bigger scale, the western isolation politics, led to this tragedy. So I am pretty sure, my interest in Russian language will be very usefull.

привет) меня зовут Андраш и я из Венгрии. хочу выразить благодарность вам за то что вы уже годами занимаетесь этим проектом. в Венгрии и вообще в Европе в настоящее время очень мало источников доступны для эффективного изучения русского языка. я ходил в курсы русского в культурный дом РФ в Будапеште но нам только базовые фразы и грамматику учили. Благодаря вам я сегодня уже могу свободно общаться на русском, бывал в России 7 раз и я влюбился. Теперь у меня много знакомых из России, я очень скучаю по ним и по городам, надеюсь все будет решено и могу вернуться. Политика и народ две разные вещи поэтому после февральских событий мое отношение к россиянам никак не изменилось. Искренне люблю вас и я очень благодарен вам. Wonderful video capturing the zeitgeist around August and September 2022. The reason I'm here is that someone from Brazil asked me how I learn Russian. I mentioned "Russian with Max" and the other person mentioned your channel and I had never heard about it. I looked it up on KZread and noticed that I was already subscribed but I had not seen your content in ages. I was surprised to see the new video about ChatGPT and very much enjoy your Russian content. I also watch Max. Did not know he had his podcast on LingQ w Steve Kaufmann but now I do. Thank you again for making these videos. I hope that you begin to produce them more regularly as I know you were taking a break. Your work is much appreciated and enjoyed in Panama.

4:52 Что значить "как угодно" в этом контексте? Кстати я ооочень люблю использовать фразу "как-то так", и в этом видео я первый раз слышал эту фразу с падежом - "Это было каким-то таким ..." 🤯

как угодно = любым образом, любым способом "Каким-то таким" человек говорит, когда не может сразу подобрать нужных слов, чтобы что-то или кого-то описать. "Такой" в данном контексте -- это слово-паразит, оно не добавляет предложению смысла, можно сказать фразу и без него.

Спасибо за видео и интересный диалог. Мне кажется Макс стрелял в точку сказав чем больше что-то происходит с какой-то страной (напримеп либо Россией или Китаем) тем больше интерес к языку. На западе ныне тоже очень крепко работатет машина пропаганды и информироваться на обоих сторонах обязателно чтобы как-то найти истину в середине. Самое важное: языки соединяют народы и расвивают взаимопонимание. И у простых людей никакой интерес в войне.

Because we all know you would be arrested within 5 seconds, as you have previously said. Even so, I don't think you should censor or delete these type of comments. Knowing what I know about Russia, I personally think it's better at this stage to criticise government officials in OTHER areas (where/while you still can). Do it anonymously if you have to. Otherwise, what are you waiting for? For the return of the gulags, or what? What I am saying is that instead of reacting to or criticising the comments/authors here on youtube which you may not like, perhaps it's better to direct that criticism elsewhere (in the direction of your government for example)?🤔 For example in another comment Max replied to me: "Рад, что вы знаете, что нужно делать другим людям:)" Well okay. But hasn't putin done just that? Doesn't he think he knows what other people should or should not do? Doesn't he send people to war? I don't need to remind you that he has caused over 40,000 deaths so far. Me on the other hand, I just said my *thoughts* - I did not force anyone to actually *do* anything (much less invade Ukraine). Why is it okay for him to get away with it? 😕

In your comment I see that you agree that we would be arrested and later again say: what are you waiting for? Well, on KZread we don't have to show everything we do offline, because it might get us in trouble, as well as we don't have to explain ourselves to the people we don't know just to look good.

13:05 Excellent and correct observation. I wanted to refresh my knowledge of Russian to be able to watch both sides of the story, instead of just western propaganda. There's also a lot of Russians moving to my country, Serbia, so as a good host I prefer to learn more about them. Привет из Белграда!

Мой опыт показывает, что если вы не говорите больше месяца на языке, который выучили, вы многое забываете. Так что мой совет: как иностранец, который уже (немного) говорит по-русски; продолжайте говорить и слушать, даже если военные события немного притупляют интерес.

All men should serve in the army until the age of 27. Some exceptions: students, medical reasons, having 2 kids.

I am learning Russian because of the war. Because there is so much disinformation here in the West. I want to understand Russia better and the key is ALWAYS the language.

While I’m one of the people who chose to stop learning russian, I do hope there will come a day when the language can be appreciated again by the world for its beauty and richness (and not bc of geopolitical strife). For now I’m going to focus on Irish, my heritage language, and maybe one day the russian language will find me again to beat the hell out of my will to live like it always did :)

почему Россия оставляет убитых солдат на поле боя Украина? Ответ заключается в том, что если они пропали без вести и невостребованы, Россия не обязана выплачивать компенсацию их семьям. Почему российские офицеры стреляют в раненых русских солдат, которые не могут ходить? Потому что они доставляют слишком много хлопот. Вот как Путин относится к россиянам, отдавшим жизнь за вашу страну. Путин - это человек, за которого вы голосовали, Путин - это человек, которому вы поклоняетесь...
