We are going to learn Russian numbers from 1 to 20.

The combination of letters ‘дц’ is pronounced as one long sound [ц] [natsat’]

12 два (a replace with e) + надцать - двена́дцать

13 три + надцать - трина̟́дцать
[trinatsat’]
14 четыре (drop the last letter e) + надцать - четы́рна̟дцать
[chityrnatsat’]
15 пять (drop the soft sing) + надцать - пятна̟́дцать
[pitnatsat’]
16 шесть (drop the soft sing) + надцать - шестна̟́дцать
[shysnatsat’] We don’t pronounce the first letter ‘т’
17 семь (drop the soft sing) + надцать - семна̟́дцать
[simnatsat’]
18 восемь (drop the soft sing) + надцать - восемна̟́дцать
[vasimnatsat’]
19 девять (drop the soft sing) + надцать - девятна̟́дцать
[divitnatsat’]
And finally, 20 (два̟́дцать)
Два + дцать [tsat’] - двадцать
[dvatsat’]
The suffix ‘дцать’ means ten. Двадцать is like ‘two tens’
To remember these numbers faster, try to use them as much as possible in your daily life - even if it’s just in your head!
