I find this incredibly relaxing.
The volume of the background music is too loud for some people with hearing problems. Words are distorted by music. Would be better to remove music all together.

I agree about the music, it serves no purpose and makes it difficult to understand the dialogue. Please Natalia, omit the music on future videos.
It would have been helpful if you counted 1-20 altogether after going through your breakdown to get a sense of continuity. This is how children learn & adults are just children in bigger bodies.
Why tf I'm watching this, I'm Russian?

The case is useful, but for some reason unpopular. People do not really want to learn a language derived from Sanskrit.
Спасибо Болшое, Наталья и До Свиданя

I don't contest the background music effect but Natalia, you have a voice so soothing, hypnotizing... @6:54 I'm starting to fall... awa..
Wow. Cool spsibo
what's the background music of this video? could somebody tell me
It's interesting that the number three is so close to English, Danish, Swedish and Norwegian. They say in English it has a direct Germanic root, but I'm inclined to believe it has some origin somewhere in the Northern territories perhaps between Russia and Scandinavia. We in Britain probably got it from the Vikings.
@DieFlabbergast

+William Fenton Dear God! What complete ignorance of the history of the Indo-European languages! English three, Welsh tri, French trois, German drei, Russian tri, Latin tres, Modern Greek tria, and many many more are all descended from the common Indo-European root-word, which was "trei" or "tri."
@DieFlabbergast
8 жыл бұрын
+William Fenton You deserved to be "condescended" to. You obviously know _nothing_ about linguistics or the history of your own language, and yet you post a comment saying "They say in English it has a direct Germanic root, but I'm inclined to believe ..." Who are you to be "inclined to believe" something about an academic field you haven't studied? This is science, not religion: there's no "believe" in it! The "they" in your "they say" are linguists, i.e. people who have devoted thousands upon thousands of hours of study to the origins of languages, including yours. Until you've put in a hell of a lot of time studying the subject, you don't have the RIGHT to come on here and display your arrogance! "Yes, werl, the _experts say it's this, but I'm _not_ going to agree with them! I have my _own_ views." Fuck off!
@DieFlabbergast
8 жыл бұрын
+William Fenton You're a complete idiot, and there's no point in arguing with you any further. I refer you to your original post, which you appear to have forgotten. Yes, you most certainly _did_ claim the authority to hold an opinion on a highly technical issue in contradiction to the view of those who have dedicated their whole fucking lives to the study of this subject. When called out on this, like most of the pricks here on KZread, you have refused to admit that you were wrong. Fuck off and stay fucked! Any further notifications of comments from the direction of this video will be sent straight to the delete bin.

DieFlabbergast How convenient, when all else fails put your fingers in your ears, right? So, how about you address the thing that I actually said? Old Norse was a Germanic language, yes or no? See, what you may have missed, is that ALL I concocted was perhaps English was handed the word 'three' from the Vikings, and not from the Saxons. Even if that's wrong (I'm open to it being wrong), is that somehow saying the etymological history of 'three' or the entire language has completely different roots apart from Indo-European, as you seem to think I'm arguing? Well? Maybe 'origin' wasn't the best word to use, but fucking hell it's pretty damn obvious I don't mean it literally had an origin there. People say English has an origin in England, but we all know it has a history and origin far, far back and in different locales. Go on, as you've appointed yourself judge and jury. You play the little innocent I see, but how about you gain some sense of proportionality in this situation and accept the entirely unwarranted offensive nature of your initial response, hmm? Oh no, you can't imagine yourself as a guilty party here, oh no. "Yes, you most certainly did claim the authority to hold an opinion on a highly technical issue in contradiction to the view of those who have dedicated their whole fucking lives to the study of this subject" WRONG. Do you not think you are reading a little in to my comment, just a tad? See the problem with thinkers - see how I actually recognised your intelligence (well, it's part of me not being a cunt, and you, well, being one) - is the need to THINK, and it often lands you in Fantasia. "They say" does NOT 'obviously' mean "Every single respected authority on the subject at hand, does it? How do you know 'they' isn't a reference to common opinion, as in the word of the street? This is a KZread comment, for the love of fuck, NOT a scientific paper. What you also conveniently ignore is my efforts to stress uncertainty in these matters 'INCLINED to BELIEVE' 'PROBABLY got it from'. Maybe, just maybe, these facts don't deserve a response of such venom that you displayed. Maybe I never claimed to have absolute knowledge? Hmm.. how exactly is this arrogance? Just what is your story you little fuckcheese? Are you some insecure little urchin, just finished a degree in language and now considers themself a divine judge of all knowledge? No, fuck you.
Love it! My wife is Russian and we now live in Saint Petersburg! Where do you count from 100 up to a thousand?
You said "Good luck with counting," but it sounded like "Good Luck Wisconsin." Still, great video and it helped me a lot.

Natalia, what percentage of russians can speak English do you think, or German? And is it possible to get around if I don't speak the language?

Please don’t use red font since it is hard to read it and make the Tussian font bigger to read it easy
So, when I want to say 41, would it be sorok+odin? and it this the format for the rest of the numbers up to 100? pyatdesyat+odin? shestdesyat+odin? semdesyat+odin? vosemdesyat+odin? devyanosto+odin? sto+odin? ect.

I've watched like five numbers videos and I'm still a bit confused. Natalia, you write one as odin, but I hear the letter, д , as an English G. Instead of ah-din, I hear it as ah-jean. Is this correct or I'm just hearing it wrong?

N Emerson In один the "д" is soft (followed by "softening" vowel и). When palatalised the D sound kinda sounds like a g to a non-native speaker I guess. Try to say D but very slowly, think about where your tongue is in the mouth. If you try to block the flow of air by raising the tongue and touching the roof of your mouth you might be able to pronounce the soft Д
