В Чесменском сражении турецкий флот чёт не очень сильный был. В сражении при Дарданеллах(1807 год) тоже не очень. В Синопском сражении тоже. Может в 16-17 веках турецкий флот был сильный, но явно не в 18-19.

When Russia became a strong country Russians decided to take the mantle of the defender of the Orthodox, and they helped Greece and Greece become independent. I'd argue the Ottoman empire was more important than the Russian empire since without the ottomans there would've probably wouldn't be the colonisation of the americas

@mustakman Guys, come on, it is basic knowledge. Yes the viking discovered America First but since they arrived in Canada, they didn't have the slightest ideas of how big and rich the new world actually was. It was very hard to maintain the colony and their ships were not ideal for such long distances. Over all it wasn't worth it for the vikings, and by the end of 15 century most of the people in Europe forgot about Leif Erikson and Vinland. So coming back to the ottoman issue, the ottomans blocked the way of the spices and valued goods that came from India and China to Europe. They were too expensive anyway so they explored ways to get those goods easier. Thus, they sailed west and across Africa and found new lands. Meaning that if the ottomans weren't blocking the way of the trade, Europeans wouldn't have had a good reason to go west

You did something wrong you underestimated Ottomans a bit. They conquered many lands, states and countries. Even including some present Russian provinces like Crimea, Caucasus and the black sea was under thier rule for centuries. Generally, they were recognizable.

В Чесменском сражении турецкий флот чёт не очень сильный был. В сражении при Дарданеллах(1807 год) тоже не очень. В Синопском сражении тоже. Может в 16-17 веках турецкий флот был сильный, но явно не в 18-19.

@@bumarangnebula2589 Russians were not even a thread by any means until 1721. Pedro I. made a lot of upgrades :) Turkish Empire never wanted lands beyond today's Ukraine. They wanted to go into central Europe. Otherwise, Russians would have to wait for a long time to shine.

@@brk29 in the Great turkish war (1683-99) Turkey lost Hungary, southern Greece and Dalmatia to Austria and Venice. In the 18th Century Russia conquered the Crimean Khanate and in the early 19th Century the Caucasus. Since then Russias Position was more Superior than Turkeys

When Russia became a strong country Russians decided to take the mantle of the defender of the Orthodox, and they helped Greece and Greece become independent. @mustakman Guys, come on, it is basic knowledge. Yes the viking discovered America First but since they arrived in Canada, they didn't have the slightest ideas of how big and rich the new world actually was. It was very hard to maintain the colony and their ships were not ideal for such long distances. Over all it wasn't worth it for the vikings, and by the end of 15 century most of the people in Europe forgot about Leif Erikson and Vinland. So coming back to the ottoman issue, the ottomans blocked the way of the spices and valued goods that came from India and China to Europe. They were too expensive anyway so they explored ways to get those goods easier. Thus, they sailed west and across Africa and found new lands. Meaning that if the ottomans weren't blocking the way of the trade, Europeans wouldn't have had a good reason to go west

Navy and army Russia :D Funny. See him when the Ottoman Empire was around 1500-1600. Your little Russians couldn't even come out of fear. Even our vassal, the Crimean state, chased them all the way to Moscow. Even at the weakest moment of our state, we defeated them in the Battle of Pleven.
